MLB 08: The Show
(PS2, PS3, PSP) will be hitting the road sometime in Spring 2008, and SCEA will be making sure that the baseball experience will be even more realistic this time around. According to the game's Director of Production, Chris Cutliff, they'll be making some major overhaul in the game especially in terms of graphics. Here's what he said in the PlayStation blog:

The MLB franchise is already considered by most as the most authentic baseball simulation available, but this year, we are aiming for an even more lifelike representation and with the addition of depth of field, improved environment lighting, new cloth techniques and enhanced facial textures, we are approaching photo realism.

Those who had beef with MLB 07: The Show's (PS3, PS2 and the PSP) graphics may find the next MLB The Show iteration a worthwhile game to get if only to check out how the game has evolved, with sweeter eye-candy.

But the improvements on the game are not all about graphics. The dev team, Cutliff said, is currently hard at work in tweaking AI, pitcher/batter strategy, controls, animation, presentation and audio.

MLB 08: The Show sounds like it's going to be another great baseball simulation, and we just can't wait for its Spring release.

More updates to come!

 » hmmm...

Can I say wow?... if they add what the 07 doesn't have like the lighting and all (because I really liked the gameplay of the game) and add many features will be without competition... and for what I saw in the pictures, a lot of eye candy in the game :|

Those were my gripes with 07's version. The models looked bland compared to 2k7's, the lighting needed work and the problem of the players looking like the never touched the ground really took away from the experience.

Here's to hoping they fix all that with some added sh*t to boot.

The screens look good, a nice step forward. Tho there's still room for improvement.
