Pretty...

The PS3 is still in its fetus stage, about to be born. That's why when Alex Carbonero and his team were making the effects for Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, they had to make ends meet with the PS3 engine, because at first there wasn't any effect tool yet.

This was their first task: to create a pipeline for effects so that the design engineers wouldn't have trouble towards the end of game development cycle. Eventually, they were able to create the tools to make the simplest effects to the more complex ones, from flame torches to luminescent blasts.

When it comes to effects, their team had to deliver effects through the laws of physics and/or magic. Tough luck, huh? But conquer it, they did. Their most common elements included smoke, fire, water, electricity, and light. For more elaborate effects, the artist simply needed to make some concept art and break it down to individual particles for the elements to be combined. From base elements to complex woven patterns...

It sounds like magic, but we're thinking, these artists truly are magicians in their own profession.

 » question

Sony has everyone under the impression that their online service is free. However, they never really explain the details on what is actually free.

If Sony announces that you have to pay a monthly or yearly plan to play games against other poeple online how will you feel? Will you still get the system after they lied to us?
I know I will not buy.

So...what will you do...if they don't lie....

matchmaking is free.

They hesitate because it's obvious that you can't expect WoW's multiplayer(its only version) to be free of charge.

So they can't say "all multiplayer will be free"

the new term is "matchmaking"

and it will be free.

Simple as that.

If not a lie:
I intend on buying one when its cheaper adn better games. Their launch is a joke i can play more then half the games for their launch on the 360.
Also i am a huge FPS fan, but from the screen shots and videos from resistance i am totally unipressed. The A.I. is bad. Also it seems as thoug you can't die because in one video the player didn't even know he was getting hit due to lack of rumble, and and his health bar wasn't going down.
So i'm not spending $600 for crap games.
When heavenly sword, FF 13, white knight Story, NGS, and wardevil come out i might think it is worth it unless, i'm too busy playing Halo 3 on live.
Sorry that game stoled my life.

 » why

How am I a fanboy, I did not say the PS 3 sucks; it is just that Sony is known for their lies, but stupid people gooble it.
I for one can't support liars or ignorant people like Sony.
You my friend are the fanboy because I want a PS 3 however, itis still too expensive for me.
I am not going to be a guinea pig for their bluray nor do i want the format. I hope both bluray and hd-dvd fails.

» come on lack of rumble?

thats what killed him? how do i ever play BF2 on my PC with "lack of rumble"? thay just need to add red bars on all corners of the screen that show up when you get hit, and that replaces rumble in FPS that easy

Your a fanboy cause your making comments against the ps3 in the comment section for a post about effects for a ps3 game and you said nothing about the article.

" Their launch is a joke i can play more then half the games for their launch on the 360."

Ha ha that is funny because if you look at the crappy 360 launch you'd see that you could play better versions of most of those games on a PC. The PS3 has a way better launch lineup and way more games in the works than 360 did.

 » whoa

Who said the 360 launch was any better?

I do not have one game from the launch period.

PD0 sucked (sold it back)
All Sports games sucked
Call Duty 2 was only good game(sold it back anyway due to online being horrific)
Played Kameo it was decent(sold it too)
game not at launch
Graw was ok not as great everyone was saying(sold it due its muliplayer structure)
DOA 4 good game
Oblivion good game(PS3 fans will soon enjoy it)

Enjoying Dead rising and Table Tennis until i get more money to buys games I missed over the summer.
Just cuz I don't like their lineup doesn't make me a retard.
It actually makes me a gamer that like certain kinds of games.
PS 3 has nothing exclusively to make me pay $600 right now.

» lack of rumble hell yeah

You telling me you guys didn't buy the rumble pack for your N64 to play goldeneye?
In Zelda Ocarina of time if you didn't have the rumble pack you would not have been able to fish or find secret places in the game.
N64 made me realised I need rumble.

You can't be serious.
FPS just don't feel the same.
Heck any game doesn't feel the same.
When you saw the video at tgs of resistance he didn't even realise he was being hit; you know why because there was no rumble.
You might as well become a pc gamer if rumble doesn't matter to you.

 » well

who's forcing you to buy one, ***** the less buyers the more of a chance i get one at launch.
