Man died because of PlayStation - Image 1Last Monday, a man was stabbed to death because of a fight over a Sony PlayStation in San Francisco, California. The victim was identified by the local authorities as Hani Attia and he didn't die for no reason. Here's what happened:

Somewhere near Seventh and Market streets, two women were trying to sell a Playstation unit around nine in the evening. Accordingly, an unidentified man suddenly grabbed the unit and tried to escape with it. The women tried to run after the robber and one of them actually got the PlayStation back.

Hani Attia was in the area and saw the commotion. He then confronted the other man and, unfortunately, was stabbed during the confrontation. The suspect fled the area and Attia was brought to Saint Francis Memorial Hospital where he died.

Update: Suspect is still at large and it's also still not known what version of PlayStation the "fatal" video game system is.

Yep, 6th and 7th street around Market Street are pretty much the ghetto. Lots of crackheads and whores, for those of you who don't know SF. It is a shame this guy tried to show some honor and stand up for some old ladies. I personally don't know why anyone would confront a theif for any object or amount of money. Let them have what they want, try to get away and call the police. Nothing is worth your life, not even a PS3. Run Away!

Also got to say the Pizza hut banner ad is really distasteful. A post about a dude dying and they are trying to slang you some ghetto ass fast food pizza. LAME.

 » Huh! Damn fool!!

In this day and age, the only people I'm going to risk personal safety for are really, really close friend and family!!!!!!!

The fool should have rang the pigs and let them sort it, now he's dead over a playstation! Idiot!!!!

Can't help but feel bad for the guy. At least he died doing a good thing, wonder how his family is feeling. Also, racism is stupid. No need to be racist, not all mexicans are thiefs jackass. White people steal too, jackhole.

"Update: ....... and it's also still not known what version of PlayStation the "fatal" video game system is."

I am sorry, that last part in the update is of very poor taste to me. It is a shame that a life was lost over something so pointless, but i honor him for doing something to help. Most people would just watch it unfold and not do anything. May "GOD, Allah, so forth and so on" blesh him.

 » Not cool

Not only is this a terrible story, but it is terribly reported. The first line where it says that the guy didn't die for no reason...

The bad grammar I can pass on, but to imply that dieing for a Playstation is somehow a good reason is just garbage.

Later in the post it also says "Accordingly, an unidentified man grabbed....

Does that mean that it was supposed to happen? Who writes this stuff? I am not an English major but that is just bad.

Shameful. Not to be outdone one of the commentors had to be racist. Too bad. This is usually a pretty decent site.

 » ugh...

it's not a good thing that a guy died but it wasn't over the PS3 (most likely it was a PS3 because why would someone go to great lengths to steala PS2 or especially a PSOne) it was that he was standing up for the old ladies and thought he shouldn't get off so easy.
but the PS3 isn't a piece of ***** though btw, i'm surprised that your 360 hasn't burned your house down :)

» Guns don't kill people, gun control kills people.

If this was in another state, the man being robbed of his PS3 could have legally pulled a gun on his assailant, stopping the confrontation. It's a shame, California's politicians don't trust people with their own safety.

Re: Mister Common Sense - 2007-05-05
 » it's all gun control!

Yes, if everyone was armed, there could have been a fierce gun battle. The robbery could have been stopped and only 1-3 people killed. Damn politicians not trusting everyone packing guns.
