Killzone 2 - Image 1

So while we're just sitting through the last few weeks before Killzone 2 gets released, some additional details have come to light. If any of you were able to play Killzone: Liberation on the PSP, you might remember those crazy attack dogs. Yeah, well, too bad dear old Snuffy won't be making a reappearance in K2.

In an interview with PSU, Guerrilla Games director Mathijs de Jonge confirmed that the attack dogs seen in the PSP spin-off title will be absent in the upcoming shooter, and instead, we'll find other vile threats.

There are other creatures though, like aggressive spiders that chase anything that gets near, be it the player, your allies or even the Helghast. These creatures live on polluted soil which has given them a very vicious attack. Get bitten, and they release a couple of thousands of volts.

Mutated spiders which can unleash electricity? Oooh, shocking.

I love how even the dogs have the glowing eyes! Always reminds me of the black mages in FF games :P

» you think the spiders aren't scary?

Go play Killzone: Liberation. They will hunt you relentlessly and then detonate, taking away over 50% of your health AND knocking you down, so you can get raped by more enemies. Now tell me it isn't shocking.

The grenade and shotgun technique is even worse...
