Anticipation over the much awaited release of Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the Sony PlayStation 3 has reached fever pitch, and left us that nostalgic feeling. Just like previous entries to the series after Metal Gear first went solid 3D, the hype is overwhelming. Perhaps it's time to look back, and remind ourselves how Hideo Kojima's masterpiece turned out to be today's most watched surefire hit.

With that said, here's a sweet video celebrating Metal Gear Solid's 20th year anniversary and whetting our appetite for the next installment. It only runs for a little over a minute, but packs footage from the blocky PS1 title to the upcoming state-of-the-art Metal Gear Solid 4.
