Rockstar: We've made a full game in The Lost and Damned - Image 1

With rumors running rampant about the Xbox 360-exclusive Grand Theft Auto 4 DLC also creeping its way to the PlayStation 3, Microsoft is quick to douse the flames. Contacting Gamespot to, hopefully, drive the nail into the coffin, they gave a succinct:

The [GTAIV] episodes are exclusive to Xbox 360.

Though Microsoft has now explicitly denied the DLC platform jump, Sony and Rockstar Games are mum on the matter. It could be that getting The Lost and the Damned on the PS3 is a deal privy to Sony and Rockstar. When Gamespot tried to contact either of them, Rockstar just gave a 'no comment' answer, and Sony still hasn't replied.

..does Sony reply to anything?

 » Regardless of companines

No big company will ever admit to any rumor. Reason being is if they were to say No to one then from there on anything with a No is NO and anything with no comment is bound to happen and vice versa. With the first comment on the rumor they lose all the mystery to hype up stuff and get people's attention.

 » thats ok

this is probably a big rumor but I heard the next installation GTA5 is Sony exclusive due to R* not wanting to water down their games to accompany other systems and they didnt like that there wasn't enough storage space on the 360. if this is the case 360 can keep this one as their last sweet taste of an awesome game.

Ive contacted sony on that rumor, they didnt reply back and R* said no comment.

When they see that fat check M$ gives even they won't be able to resist watering down their games. Money talks man. And seriously why would you want an add-on on an already okay game? GTA:San Andreas and Vice City are still better. The only way R* can beat those games is that they make the game PS3 exclusive(I doubt they'll do multidisc) and don't cut anything. 25-50GB disc size is a necessity now.

 » yeah!!

You have no idea how happy that would make me! GTA San Andreas 2 FTW!

About the DLC. I have it and its not really anything to get to excited about.

 » lol @ MS, pathetic

MS will continue to deny all rumors until their timed exclusivity is up. Why would they acknowledge this when they paid waaay too much, $50 mil to be exact.

If they said this rumor was true I'm sure more people would wait for ps3 dlc to come out if they haven't gotten it already for the RRoD360.

 » shut it fanboi!

why do all you PS3 fanbois say that all 360 have RRoD THEY DO NOT! it is over and done with. and besides 50 mil is a MASSIVE amount of money and microsoft would not allow it to go on the PS3, moreover you would not expect it to sell as much as it did on the PS3 because everyone has played it and finished it so it will be nothing new.

If anything, sony should be worried getting GTA5. 360 has more chance of getting GTA 5 exclusive because the game has sold a lot more on the 360.

   Re: Digitus - 2009-05-13
 » ..

That was mostly due to the fact that at the time the 360 installed user base was a lot larger than the PS3 user base. Now the two systems are closer in terms of units sold so a GTA5 can still be viable for both. It'll probably still sell more on 360 but probably not by too much. If 4 was not exclusive then a 5, if it ever comes out, wont be either.

 »  Ps3 will get

Ps3 will get download content. Maybe not lost and damned though. I have information that points to a ps3 exclusive although it won`t rival loast and damned. Inside info points to more Missions within Liberty city. But at the same time supposedly more missions than lost and damned offers. This info was given to me by a Rockstar staff membre. He said Don`t worry ps3 will not lose out due to microsoft and the $25mil TIMED exclusive!

May I point out the $25mil TIMED exclusive comment!

» Statement makes Timed Exclusive very likely

I certainly believe you, arnookie. I think it's rather humorous to see those who read that statement from Microsoft and read that to mean 'forever' exclusive.... "The [GTAIV] episodes are exclusive to Xbox 360." ....Nowhere in that statement does Microsoft say "are always exclusive" or "is now and will always be". They only state the present-tense, correct statement: that (currently) the episodes are exclusive. And, if TOMORROW the episodes were on PS3 (I'm not implying that I think they will be; just for example), it wouldn't change the fact that M$'s statement was true TODAY. ;-)

Microsoft has the next DLC. Hopefully it will be announced at E3

» "N"The [GTAIV] episodes are exclusive to Xbox 360."

Yeah but if the episodes are changed slightly or if the same characters are used in dlc for the PS3, then it's not the same episodes.

 » a few things

1 - if sony/R* were in talks of getting said content on the PS3... why would one assume microsoft has any wind of it? They can stand there touting "ITs exclusive to us" when indeed there may be a plan secretly between S/R.

2 - It's retarded to call MS out on this. Of course they're going to do anything to make it look better on them. If a report came out saying Sony top execs are better in bed than any other top execs of any company, MS would reply with "Nuh uh, we're the bestest in bed... and Sony's top execs are propably sleeping with animals! We've got women exclusive to Xbox360!"

:P
