Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition - Image 1

Here we have the debut of the "highest, most limited edition" you'll ever find for Infinity Ward and Activision's Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). Robert Bowling, community manager, takes to the task of ceremoniously laying out the contents of the Prestige Edition, and we'd have to say, it does live up to the name.

What's inside?
  • Actual game (hardened edition)
  • can be bought separately
  • Exclusive artbook: Behind the Lines: Art of MW2
  • Steel book
  • Token for call of duty (pc) on PSN and XBLA
  • Fully functioning Night Vision Goggles
  • plus mannequin head as your NVG stand (or something)
What he did not mention was how much this Prestige Edition is gonna cost. Need we bet it's gonna be anything but cheap? When you buy this - and on top of burning hours playing the game, you'll probably have none left to pay for your electricity bills. Maybe that's what the Night Vision Goggles are for.

night vision goggles are expensive last time i checked, can't say i'm not tempted to buy them though. Would be awesome just walking around in the dark scaring the crap out of people.

 » I found it

It is $150

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/13/modern-warfare-2-prestige-edition-includes-working-night-vision/

I think Ill just get the steelbook version, I love COD but not enough to drop $150 on it

 » oh wow!!!

i'd buy the prestige ed. for the googles alone... and for the ps3 too!

 » HOLY *****

HOLY *****ING *****. dammit i reserved the limited addition, now i gotta drive my ass to gamestop and reserve the pretige. i hope its not 200 bucks...im still gonna pay it, i just hope i dont have to lol

 » A bunch

of stuff for a bang of bucks I bet!!! Yeah, It would be cool to have but I'm sure the art book is useless; most of us will take a glance at it and leave it to dust. The token for a free DL that's cool!! but I'm sure I'll be busy playing MW2 instead. Steel Book, well use it to hit your friends in the head for not letting you play your own game. The mannequin head, well put a wig on it and use your imagination :o!! And Finally the Night Vision Goggles!! I'm sure I wont be the only one using them for stalking the hot MILF neighbor during the night time; and ill also be adding them as an extra gadget to add to my sneaking suit a la MGS. I wonder if they would make the Twiiing!! noice? Be careful not getting discovered guys!!!

Cant Wait!!!

that u are a self loathing little *****. this stuff is for fans of the game not for flamers like you who talk ***** about other peoples hard work. just because you suck at the game doesnt mean you gotta talk ***** about it. ur acting as if someone is forcing you to buy it. if u dont like it dont buy it and deal with it. im a fan of mw, and i will probably buy it because their hard work deserves my money, not because im gonna run around with the NVGs. why dont you go to your medicine cabinet and take evrything thats in there. maybe it will make you brain go Twiiing!

At not f*king point was I talking crap about the game or about their work you f*g f*ck! I was just commenting on all the stuff the box offers by being sarcastic and I think it's an awesome deal no matter what!, and apparently you have no sense of humor because of your f*ked up piece of crap brain! Read my f*cking post right you retard. You probably followed your own advice on taking all the meds on the cabinet, that made your brain get in shape like a piece of *****.
Twiing B*tch!! YOU **** FACE!

Now I get to play my games with the lights off!

Ive always wanted NVG as a kid. If these NVG work the same way the night vision works on camera, i dont want it.

;)

 » yeah wow

i mean thats cool, maybe 4 people can afford it...

why not throw in a real m16 the kids can play with

m16s are fine, it's the expensive ammo that keeps me from shooting anything larger than a .22lr

So you're gonna be paying an extra $100+ for a pair of NVG which I highly doubt will be actual high-quality NVG. Will probably be that crappy type you see on cheap digital cameras.

I still don't get what he meant about the Hardened Edition. All it does is come with the artbook?

   Re: sHaDoWpLaY.74 - 2009-07-14
 » Well

You're probably right! I doubt they would be fully state of the art functional just like the military version. But Hey they look awesome to me! I think it would be $160 for the entire shebang! Knowing that NVG do cost way more.
   by MADMAN-_-zZ - 2009-07-14
 » WTF

wtf "FULLY functioning NVG's??" last time I checked NVG goggles cost about $300+....

   Re: MADMAN-_-zZ - 2009-07-14
 » ...

ok video says "alternate modes for NVG" one mode must be IR vision because there are a cluster of LED's at the front, if the other mode is Fully functioning NVG, Im getting this for sure...

Anyone else dislike how he pronounces 'prestige' pres-teej?

None the less, crazy that it comes with NVG's.

 » OMG!!!

this looks so insane! i hope ot comes to the UK. deffinate buy even if its £150

   by vizard00 - 2009-07-20
 » ok

guys night infrared vision cost 1000 to 2000 $ , and use infrared technology and maybe heat . this one cost about 100 $ , i think its jut a light multiplicator with few night vison efects and maybe sounds lol zzzzzzzzzzzzzz ( splinter cell haha ) , it cant be a real night vision and IW have to give us a real Techspech of this treasor and manufacturer . ide prefer a MW 2 tee or a real infantry head cover , gloves glasses flag fugure , but not a fake NV .

   by Sw3RvE - 2009-07-27
 » well

video cameras with "night vision" use infrared LEDs. they are cheap. if you want to see how they work take a TV remote and point it at a video camera on your cell phone or a regular camera. press any button and you will see a light. that is how video cameras use "night vision". I promise that these goggles are going to use this same method to achieve night vision.

   Re: Sw3RvE - 2009-07-27
 » these nvg

will have one or two little screens and a video camera with infrared LEDs around the camera lens. the infrared LEDs are going to look like someone is shining a flash light and you are looking at it through a video camera.
