Lace up and step out to the pitch with a whole lot of FIFA 08 info and screenshots coming your way. We get down to the nitty-gritty of what's in store for soccer fans itching to get their hands on a copy, as well as see what EA's stacking up against the other football game giant, Pro Evolution Soccer.

It seems that EA's finally boosting both gameplay and graphics up a notch with the series's much-awaited next-gen title, touting to deliver an experience so authentic a player will actually feel as if he's actually on the pitch rather than just playing a video game. The AI has been ramped up somewhat as well, with a 35-point decision engine which supposedly enables AI-controlled players to process multiple decisions and reactions in real time. Nifty.

Shooting's also been improved, with every kick of the ball calculated from the angle of the kick to just how strong the wind is blowing - courtesy of the next-gen ball-striking engine. Boasting of an infinite number of contexts from which every kick's success can be measured by, goalies and attackers will certainly have their work cut out for them in the goalpoint-race to triumph.

And there's a new mode for those of you who want to squeeze more gameplay out of the game other than facing off with your friends. Titled "Be A Pro", this mode puts you in the shoes of a single player and pits you against all the challenges and tribulations all actual soccer players go through - and it's up to you to overcome anything in your path by skill, guts, and sometimes just pure absurd luck.

While there's no news yet on how deep the player's customization options are going to be, what we do know is you'll be able to make your own signature move - be it a Ronaldo-esque kick, or a David Beckham-ish pass. The game's organic "building-block" system enables players to combine tricks and skill moves to recreate the moves of legend, or to create an entirely original move of their own.

And for those of us savvy in the online bit of things, there's always the Interactive Leagues, the online tournament now making its debut on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Represent your favorite clubs and face off against your rivals throughout the season in multiple divisions.

FIFA 08 is certainly shaping up to be a solid next-gen title, and should be looked out for, whether you're a fan or a videogame player itching for some sports action besides basketball. Updates as we get them, and in the meantime, feast on these screenshots!

I'm surprised a sport game made by EA, especially EA, is actually getting better in quality, gameplay and graphics. Watch out Konami, Fifa might actually beat Winning Eleven.

» You, yes, you... are trash (game addict).

Don’t read this writing because garbage like you is not worth it. Are you still reading? You, kid just never listen to what others say. I feel sorry for you, moreover I feel pathetic for your mom and dad. Your parents work every day so you can go to school and eat lunch meals; and, your parents don’t even know that you waste hours every single day to play (computer or video) games and visit game-related websites.

You have some virtual gaming-life and crappy real life; and both are worthless, stupid, and sad. You’re a nuisance to your family members. Anyway, there’re many kinds of addictions: smoking, drugs, computer (video) games, gambling, porn addiction, alcohol, and so forth. All of the above are harmful in many ways on people. Things like drug are bad for your physical being; others like games are bad for your mental self.

One of my relatives is a game maniac (or just a game addict). She finally went to the general hospital because her family members couldn’t put up with her. She was sent to 2 doctors (psychiatrist and therapist) at the general hospital who work extensively for mental health department (substance abuse program). I read the handouts and pamphlets she brought. The following is the guideline to distinguish a game addict from non-addicts. If you play even one game (or games) 3 days or more every week, and more than 1 hour on any one day, then you are classified as a game addict; this is a truth, a flat fact; no arguing on this matter.

If you disagree with the above in the slightest, go and ask to your family physician. You may say you don’t have time to waste for such thing; of course, you probably don’t have time to visit your family doctor because you have to spend hours every single day to play games. You can’t even realise what you really are because right now you are the trash itself – you have become garbage so many years ago – the moment you have first played games like a crazy ret+rd 10 or 20 years ago. You have passed the stage where you can be cured; you are incurable since many years ago.

The handouts say that 98% of all addicts don’t even fully realize how severe their problems are. Isn’t playing games enough for you, kid? Merely wasting away your life by playing games isn’t enough? So, you need to waste at least a few more hours every single day to visit several game-related websites to watch and read game videos, game screenshots, and game news articles which are all about games? All of the above (game pictures, movies, new articles) are totally worthless and trashy. You’re garbage, too, period. It was very hard to find such worthless people (like you) during my university years (in Japan) because it was a selected institution; however, during my old high school years, I have seen hundreds of trashy ppl like you around me (because ANYONE can attend high school).

Right now, with your currently decayed mind, you can’t even think or rationalize clearly. You can’t even talk some reasonable and logical things about life. Your brain has been messed up. If you disagree... well... don’t make me laugh. Just don’t... kid.

You may wonder why I’m here on this gaming site right now. First of all, I never even waste 3 seconds to read either the game news articles or other comments posted by others. I came to this QJ site only to post this writing since this is the place which is full of game addicts. I wasted about 30 minutes to write this informal essay down. Also, I wasted about another 30 minutes to read those handouts and pamphlets from the hospital. Then I wasted about 2 minutes to post this writing.

I gave you this very good piece of advice which can (or may) improve or even change your life. However, I don’t have high hopes on you, kid, anyway. The handouts say that about 95% of all addicts are never cured until the days they die (of old age or by killing themselves). The reports also say that addicts have 190% more chance to commit suicide than non-addicts.

 » 3 days a week? Moron.

Game addiction does exist but it is if you are playing a hell of a lot more than an hour per day.

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT+104+STORY+/www/story/04-02-2007/0004558174+EDATE+

That is a link to a report on gaming addiction which points out 2 very important things. Firstly, it's not a set amount of time that someone plays games for that is important, but whether it has any negative effects on their social, family or school life. Secondly, although the amount of time to cause negative effects in people varies, the average gaming time for addicts was found to be about 24.5 hours per week, which happens to be a little higher than you claim.

Basically, if playing games doesn't get in the way of your social, family or school/work life, there is no problem.

Also, you seriously have a problem if you feel the need to come onto a site and claim to be helping people by throwing insults at them. You claim that playing games is bad for your mental health all the while verbally bullying anyone who chose to read your 'informal essay'. In short, I agree with the anonymous poster below you. Get a life and go f--k yourself.

There's the link in 2 pieces. Add the second bit to the first bit and it should work.
