Mortal kombatants and DC heroes and villains will come to blows next month when Midway Games' Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) hits shelves. Today Midway announced that the gong will signal the start of the battle on November 16.

If you're a comic enthusiast then you've probably heard of uber-artist Alex Ross. If you're also looking forward to getting Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), then you'll be glad to know that Midway has tapped Ross' talents for the game's collectors edition.

Eleven characters each from the Mortal Kombat and DC universes will be going head-to-head against each other this November in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). A part of me struggles against the idea of pitching Superman against, well, anybody, but getting him to kick the lights out of Shang Tsung and the rest of the Mortal Kombat roster makes me... scratch my head. Still, if the devs make it work, then why not?
