Funny, it doesn't even look that good..
Played the demo and I wasn't very impressed by it. Graphics were okay and the gameplay seemed a little stiff to me. The fact that the controller didn't have the rumble made me feel somewhat disconnected from the game. But then again it was just a demo, hopefully it turns out to be better... =)
this ***** is hot
Another muppet comment without seeing it in action let along playing it. That games impressive just sucks only ps3 exclusive games will show its true power more next year. Idiot multiplatform game developers don't bother using the full power of each system rather just port it with little effort lazy asses.
WFT are you talking about? Motorstorm is a PS3 exclusive and it's way better than any Xbox 360 game out there.
...and try enjoying news about a game for once without all the "this is way better than that" cr@p.
I love how u guys just give opinions without knowing wtf ur talking about....."but but teh game doesnt look that good cry cry" how do u know u both have yet to play the damn game, yes i know but but but the demo....u fail to realize the demo is old as *****.....and its just dat....a *****ing demo....u havent seen nuthing yet....here a lil bit of ownage so u guys can STFU

Graphics
So the game plays like a dream, to be quite honest. But another big part of the enjoyment is the immersive, tangible world you race in, and that's thanks not just to the physical laws of the track, but the outstanding visual quality too.
There's no question: all the neat touches they had in the questionable E3 2005 target trailer are pretty much present and respectable in some form or another in the real, final game. It's unbelievable and an absolute told-you-so victory for PS3, with some of the lushest, best-lit visuals we have seen to date.
Environment
The game's setting across all tracks is based on Arizona's Monument Valley, and digitised onto PS3 with an impressive feeling of scale and a sense of 'being there'. Before you select your motor or see a single tyre, the environment is one of the most detailed and convincing yet seen on a new hardware platform.
Physics
But the killer ingredient is the physics engine. Not in a stuffy, simulator way where you have to worry about what your tyres are made out of or what petrol you're using. But full-on environment, vehicle, driver and crash physics that add an unprecedented feeling of depth to the gameplay.
The physics are everywhere. If you're hurtling along and just clip a small bit of tyre on the edge of an unfortunately positioned rock, get ready for a rough landing after a brilliant crash; you'll never just bump off a wall and carry on. Hit some barrels or a spare heavyweight tyre left laying around in the vast, object-rich environments, and they'll keep tear down the track for a hundred metres, believably and intimately bouncing on every part of rocky wall and uneven track, while the rag doll driver animation is the real deal here - watching in slow motion as a driver is thrown into a cliff before his own bike lands and crushes back onto his body, or as hundreds of vehicle parts explode into different directions, is spellbinding stuff. "Although different demos of the game have been doing the rounds via download onto owners' systems, and at demo kiosks at stores in Japan and America, some of the feedback has been mixed and it's abundantly clear to us that the near-final product we've played benefits from a lot of perfecting"
"you have to say 'wow'. It's possibly even better looking that the infamous, stunning target video trailer shown 18 months ago and it plays even better than it looks."
"The HDR lighting in MotorStorm is also sexy; tilt the camera towards the blue sky with the driver still in view, and he appears dark; point it down towards the radiant orange ground to feel its warmth and the driver is bright and vibrant. OK, so many new-generation games are pulling off HDR admirably, but there's something about it in MotorStorm that looks pornographically attractive."
"During replays or the pause screen you can move the camera around freely, and really have a detailed look to appreciate things. You can even take the camera underneath the vehicle and see the splashes of mud and grass up close, and despite a bit of clipping - to be expected when this much cam freedom is allowed up-close - putting this sort of detail at the mercy of user investigation shows how confident Evolution is with the engine it has running on the hardware."
"In conclusion, to be quite honest we're in love with MotorStorm. When you look at this code with a forward-looking perspective, if there's one game that really shows off the POTENTIAL of the PS3 beyond Xbox 360 right now, absolutely it's MotorStorm, and Evolution is to be saluted for putting together such an awesome package."
"No matter how close
>"if there's one game that really shows off the POTENTIAL of the PS3 beyond Xbox 360 right now, absolutely it's MotorStorm"
I guarentee that had Gears of War been a PS3 game instead and this guy (Adam Doree) had previewed it for the PS3, he would have probably said exactly the same thing.
The fact that he loves the game seems to have clouded his judgement (it happens, it's human nature), because for him to say it's possible even better looking than the E3 2005 trailer is just laughable.

That said, I've always been looking forward to this game so personally, I can't wait. :)
I think many are now looking for something to differentiate the PS3 from the 360 after all the hype which hasn't materialized, so when something impressive arrives on the PS3, they use it to support their views based upon the hype.
GoW was a good example, because I've lost count of the number or reviews I've read and podcasts I've listened to where they say it's the best graphics they've EVER seen in a game, and yet, not once has anyone mentioned it as showing the potential of the 360 over the PS3. So like you said, if it was the reverse, you could be sure that some of them would have claimed it shows the power of the PS3 over the 360.
I agree that Motorstorm looks like fun to play, but I'm still going to wait for the reviews.
What PS3 fanboys like him need to realize it that 360 owners have nothing to prove, and dont give a ***** if the PS3 is better than the 360. REally i dont care, becasue if motorsorm is good. Guess what, im buying a PS3 as well. Im a gamer, just becasue i dont find the PS3 all that impressive right now, doesnt mean that i hate it. I dont buy things on hype, but proof.
One thing though that made me lose any respect for this writer was when he said it looked better than the CGI trailer. Seriously, its not even close, even with those screens.
"No matter how close passing objects or scenery are, motion blur is flawless in its execution - much, much better than we witnessed in something like Project Gotham 3 where the motion-blur compensation for framerate looked shaky."
Anyway the game looks JUST like that...:/
BTW heres a trailer thats new

I played the game at Target. It was OK, but much less than I expected. The gameplay wasn't any better than MX vs ATV or similar game and the graphics were good but not impressive. I guess I'm so used to XBOX 360 and was expecting more because of all the hype.
I played the demo graphics looks good and so do the physics but slowdown and very choppy at some points...not very impressed with that...i'll stay with my X360 for now
Please tell me where you see it in the demo. I'm gonna check right away.
I think your ps3 is broken. (just a joke...)
The final product has much better graphics than the demo version.
The Target Demo blows. It is extremely different than the updated demo you can download from the PlaystationStore. It is choppy at the start of the race and when you've got a lot of the vehicles on screen at once. If you play the downloaded demo, that is fixed and it looks more like a near-finished product.
Once again, I am buying this game on release date! Just hate that I have to wait...
Its going to have online play and guess what.. its FREE online play u can just pay for extra rare vehicles online using real money from your pnp wallet.
Im glad sonys online service is free if it wasnt id just stick with single player, and 2-4 player co op games.
Thisll be a nice christmas game for those who lives in japan.
If i had a ps3 it would be a must have title for what all it have to offers.
You DO know that comparison is of the render and THE DEMO right? whos not to say the gameplay looks just as good now? Kikizo happens to have played he FINAL version of the game, not the demo. IGN happened to played the final version also and sai the "final version comes so close to the render, more than they ever coulda imagined"
Like I said, I'm looking forward to the game, but I've read TOO many fantastic previews in the past only to be let down in the final review, so I'll reserve judgement for NOW (since we're all into captial letters it seems ;)).
Also, the fact remains that whenever a great looking PS3 game arrives, comments of "this proves the PS3 potential over the 360" or "this shows the PS3 is more powerful" etc will appear, even when the game is showing nothing that cannot be achieved on the 360. :|
Completely off topic here but this is intresting:
Xbox360: 8,066,083
Playstation 3: 384,670
Nintendo Wii: 1,206,713
After A Minute
Xbox360: 8,066,120
Playstation 3: 384,675
Nintendo Wii: 1,206,727
Each Company Sells The Following Amount Of Consoles In A Minute:
Xbox 360: 37
Playstation 3: 5
Nintendo Wii: 14
So by tommorow At 8:30pm this many consoles will have been sold:
Xbox360: 53280
Playstation 3: 7200
Nintendo Wii: 20160
This brings this total number of consoles sold at roughly 8:30pm tommorrow at:
Xbox 360: 8119400
Playstation 3: 391875
Nintendo Wii: 1226887
These Figures are based on the website http://nexgenwars.com/
These figures do not quite match the figures that have been released from many companies. If anything these results seems biased towards to xbox360 in my personal opinion. As I highly doubt with the release of both the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii that Microsft will be selling 37 console a minute and 53280 consoles every 24 hours whereas Nintendo only sells 14 consoles a minute and 20160 every 24 hours.
Seriously where do they get their figures from???
If anybody seriously believes a website that doesnt provide contact info, how it retreives data, plus all the usual webby stuff, not to mention it somehow moves up in sales without the page REFRESHING itself, clearly has issues
I have an X360 and a PS3.
And after i played the Motorstorm demo and Gears of war it's a tie (for graphics). Yes really. For a launch PS3 game it's awesome! And when you play it you really feel that the PS3 hardware is a monster. Especially when it show the mountain from far in the replay. It's like a CG movie. Lightning, physic and Sixaxis control are perfect! --Don't try to diss a game because you don't have it...please.
have said it better myself!
The problem is the demo they released for the game hardly shows what the game is capable of. It really only shows how much fun it is to make the stuff explode (which is amazing).
I mean in the demo there isn't as much pick your path type situations in the track you play on. There isn't as much stuff to have crumble and destroy on the course so you don't get to see that aspect as much.
I think it's really tough to call this game at this point.
The guy above you played the demo from the PNP. Its different from the in store demo (which is horrible compared to the PNP one) Once u play them both you'll see a HUGE difference in game play and graphics.
HELLO everybody
just one question for the JAP version of motorStorm $$$$
I heard that this version JAP does not have Online!!!!!!!!! is necessary it to await the US version?
bye
There is no online in the Japanese version.
There are no news of if they will add it later as an update, but I'm not counting on it. I'll still buy the game because I can't wait to play this game.
