on my sure-buy list...
can never do without an NBA game, as most of the QJ regs on my list can attest i'm usually always on my NBA2K7 game, on my third season in Association mode and yes i play 82 games per season.

EA is just a bunch lazy bastards. putting out crap games on as many consoles as possible to make as much money as possible and not giving a damn about the consumer. Why would they, they know people will buy the game because they got exclusive rights to the NFL so they don't really have to try very hard. I f you want to play NFL football you have to buy from EA. And what about that bull_sh1t excuse they gave about not having too much experience on the PS3, this is not the first Madden game on the PS3 they should have their act together by now I would think.

Guys, this has NOTHING to do with "lazy developers."
All-Pro Football 2K8 also runs at only 30 frames per second on the Playstation 3, even though it runs at 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360.
The same thing can be said about NCAA Football 2008.
We need to remember that 2K Sports and EA Sports created a total of THREE Football games, each of which ran smoothly at 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360 at an upconverted 1080p resolution, while the Playstation 3 versions "struggled to run at 30 frames per second at 720p resolution." That was a direct quote from gaming reviews.

Here is some useful info that helps explain things I got it from another website, but it seems quite accurate:
NBA2K8 is built to a multi-platform lowest common denominator with fewer, less complex, polygons per frame of animation. Madden 2008 has FAR more complex polygons with FAR more geometric processing, and much more Artificial Intelligence needed as a result of the fact that there are SO MANY more players on the field in Football. Basketball has a much smaller number of players on the field, and that does make a big difference. As a result, the 275,000,000 polygons per second that the PS3 offers is more than enough to allow FIFA 2008 to run at 60 frames per second; however, the same could not be said for Madden 2008 (or the other Football games). Obviously, the 500,000,000 polygons offered by the Xbox 360 is more than enough to allow 60 frames per second for FIFA 2008, Madden 2008, NCAA Football 2008, and All-Pro Football 2K8.
Here is a statement that EA issued to the public that explained why Madden 2008 and the other Football games on both systems run at 60fps on the Xbox 360, but only 30fps on the Playstation 3, even though other sports games do run at 60fps on both systems.

as we most people with common sense think, the EA sports dev team where given so little time to develop the ps3 version hence not tweaked version of madden. yes they made it specifically for 360 and gave so little time to port it to ps3 so that they can meet the release date. the dev only have 2 choice which is delay ps3 version further or release a half ass 30 frames version.
yes they can make it 60 frames on ps3 heck they can even make it 120 frames if they where just given enough time and or number of people to handle the development. but the sad fact is ps3 still has a smaller user base than 360 so dev team is smaller. now its up to sony fans to grow the user base of ps3 to be on par with 360 and wii so that the next EA game can have the same number of dev people to work on and have the quality as the 360 version or even way better because we all can agree, xbox 360 has reached its peak and ps3 is still just using only some of its power.

Xbox is the best is the name I chose being the best console is now more than graphics and game selection it is now about features and function and my lovely xbox 360 can do just about anything so I know I am right in my feelings and until the ps3 gets better I'm sticking to it.
