Cyber-athletes, get ready for a face-rocking new feature set to turn your NBA Live 08 (PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii) online games into deeper, more social experiences. EA Sports has announced the new downloadable feature called Online Team Play and it's going to be available on the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 versions.

In Online Team Play, 10 players from across their respective regions can now get together in a single game for some five-on-five action. The feature will be automatically available for the Sony PS3 version once you go online, while Microsoft Xbox 360 owners can get it over from Xbox Live.

When playing as a team, virtual ballers must work like a real team does in order to win. Not everyone can be Kobe Bryant and do much of the scoring. Some people will have to do the dirty work off the glass or be assigned to shut down the opposing team's key players.

This is an excellent addition indeed to the proud NBA Live franchise despite its ups and downs. We can't wait to try this out ourselves.
