drake - Image 1Well it looks like the rumors are all true, Nathan Drake is headed to the big screen. Naughty Dog's action-adventure game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, will have a movie adaptation courtesy of Columbia Pictures with scriptwriter Kyle Ward. Ward is also tasked to work on the screenplays of the upcoming Hitman 2 and the Kayne & Lynch movie adaptations.

According to the article from The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be produced by Avi Arad, famed producer of Iron Man, X-Men Origins: Wolverine  and the Spider-Man series. No other details have been revealed on the upcoming movie, but judging on the people handling the production, it looks like Nathan Drake is in good hands.

 » hmm...

Hopefully this movie won't suck... almost every movie based on a game sucked... but on the other hand: Uncharted is actually somehow a playable film so I think it's easier to make a good movie based on it than e.g. Mortal Kombat because it's a fighter if you know what I mean...

Well at least I have a good news: Uwe Boll is not involved in this :D

as long as it isnt another movie with Christian Bale as the main star, it'll probably be a decent movie. Maybe they could do an origins and have it so Nathan Drake is bit by a radioactive antique allowing him to jump at incredible hights, yet fail to jump over little rocks in his path.

Also, the enemy need to have inbuilt computer and wallhacks so they can see him approaching without even looking.

I think this movie will be good. And I must be one of the few who enjoyed the movie X-men Origins: Wolverine. :(

» the best part about Nathan Drake...

is the voice actor's perfect timing (and I guess the lines written for him). As of right now, I'm not sure anyone can pull that off.

 » Stick to the original

I think if they made the movie in CG just like the games and use the same actors as the games then it will be a big hit but anything other than that is going away from what makes Uncharted good an may fail horribly.
