Yeah, it's still boxing, but EA's new punch-and-pummel title, FaceBreaker, seems to owe more to Ready 2 Rumble than the company's own realistic Fight Night series. Just check out these screenshots of a fighter named Voodoo. Think a guy wearing a costume like that would ever be in Fight Night?

Despite the cartoony exterior, the team behind this title is the one responsible for Fight Night Round 3. That alone should probably be worth something as assurance that FaceBreaker may look downright weird and funny on the outside, but it will be a hard-hitting beast on the inside.

Anyway, this over-the-top arcade boxing game is being readied for release this year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. We'll keep you updated if anything new comes out, so keep checking back here. In the meantime, enjoy the screenshots.
