SoulCalibur 4 - Image 1

Soul Calibur 4 for the Sony PlayStation 3 is being kept a bit tighter under wraps by Namco Bandai than its brother Tekken 6. We've seen characters like Mitsurugi and Nightmare displayed in the past, and now we're seeing a bit more with these three new screens.

In addition to these details, we already know that old friends like Sigfried, Sophitia, Taki and Yoshimitsu will be there for seasoned veterans. We're anticipating a plethora of new modes and features that will take advantage of the next gen platforms they'll be appearing in.

It's amazing to think how far the Soul franchise has gone for Namco. When Soul Edge first appeared, some regarded it as a Tekken copycat with swords. The game has completely stepped out of the shadow of Tekken and paved the way for a deep, fun and lovable series replete with unique mechanics and characters we've grown to love. Here's hoping for more of that in the latest installment.
