Warhawk

In Warhawk, gamers can experience the thrill of aerial combat with hundreds of enemy fighters, massive armored assaults, and intense infantry combat in a total war fought on land and in the skies. Using the power of the PS3, Warhawk will be able to have hundreds of vehicles, troops, cruisers, and carriers all on the screen at once. The fully interactive battlefield between the Eucadian and Chernovan forces must be defended at all times in this dynamic world. Online battles with support for up to 32 people will be available, and the multiplayer experience will always be evolving with new downloadable content and a variety of different game modes.

Are you serious?? This is a ps3 exclusive, they're not going to drop it at the end of production after spending time and money developing it for the ps3!! take your bull somewhere else...RUMOR!

 » Sorry 1

but Sony Santa Monica is making the game...they don't need extra help from Sony, since they're a development arm of Sony.

Also obviously the game has never been planned for 360 since it's being made by Sony.

Well I haven't heard that either. But I just assumed he misspelled this is instead of spelling Thesis wrong. Silly me, seeing as he's posting in Warhawk news.

what any1 says, this game is gonna be nice. Hundreds of planes on the screen at one time, hand to hand combat, the worlds look really nice too. I saw it being played at E3, when you get really low to the water it shooots waves in the air behind the plane, it looks good.

 » Wow

The most realistic water in a game, the most realistic clouds, and tons of land and air combatants. Can you imagine if the final version looked even better?? o_o All that's left to spruce up is the ground combat.

» this is one of the luanch games right?

if it is im getting it motorstorm and risistance if its out at luanch

» Yeah, this is officially a Launch Title.

And I can't wait. This is one of those rare instances where there might be too many good launch titles for my wallet to handle, but i'll make it work.

Motorstorm
Resistance
Warhawk
Heavenly Sword
Stranglehold (looks actionpacked beyond belief)
NBA 07 (the footplanting/AI advancements convinced me)
Ridge Racer 7

Compared to the PS2 launch which had SSX and that's it, and you can tell that Sony's really stepped their game up. In fact the PSP launch was pretty good too. What they have to fix however is the game drought that typically happens after launch. It might be better for them to schedule the really big titles so that they don't interfere wtih each other's sales, and then make sure that there's a steady stream of triple-A titles as the months go by. This was one weakness that was seen in both the PSP and 360 launches. The initial software lineup was tremendous, and then suddenly there weren't many titles coming out, which is a shame. Hopefully Sony makes sure this kind of strategic error doesn't happen for the Playstation 3.

the ps3 actually has a pretty incredible launch line-up. I've really haven't seen any other console launches compare.

"the ps3 actually has a pretty incredible launch line-up. I've really haven't seen any other console launches compare."

Well after being delayed from spring until November, it ought to be good.

Had the PS3 launched as originally planned (Spring), it's launch games would have been no better or worse than other consoles, however it now has 6-9 months 'extra' development time to polish what would have been spring launch game, and to include games that would have been released about 6 months after a spring launch.

Getting back to Warhawk...

It looks fun in the air, but I'm not sure about the on foot missions though, they look a bit lame (check it out on the 'Behind the scenes' movies on www.warhawk.com).

 » Hmm

Looks good, not the best water + clouds, I think Crysis takes the cake for best visuals yet. Looks good + fun to play but im worried about the on foot and tank sections of the game, I have a bad feeling there going to suck.

Warhawk kinda reminds me of Crinsom Skies, on my PC back in the days; big airships little buildings, noice effects, and lots o` planes, that could be modded. Still the whole, being able to get out of your plane and walk around thing......Hmmmm
time will tell...

At least these screens show lots o` planes like the E3 2005 Video :D

 » planes and planes

One of the big upsides discussed for this game, is how many planes can be on the screen at one time....like hundreds at a time....pretty sweet if ya ask me
