PlayStation store

Have you checked the PlayStation Store recently? Santa's little elves have an early Christmas gift waiting for you guys. Despite having only some mild activity in the online store for the past couple of weeks, there's now some new downloadable content for everyone to enjoy.

Currently, I haven't been able to check the Store yet. Before I left home this morning, all I got were session timeouts (stupid connection!). Supposedly, the games will be up by today, and Sony hasn't even stated what time they'll go live. You guys can check for yourselves.

The games available by today are a demo and two downloadable games. Firstly, the demo is free, setting you back by 593MB of hard drive space. It's of Genji: Days of the Blade. While the game has already been out in North America, some of you guys who still haven't gotten your hands on a copy of the game yet now have a chance to take a crack at it. Maybe the demo would help you decide whether to get the game or not.

The other two downloadable content would be Lemmings 2 and Go! Sudoku 2. The former will cost you US$ 5.99 and would require 270MB. It'll have 1080p support, and bundle some 40 new levels and added visual magic. Go! Sudoku 2, on the other hand, will be free (89MB for the initial download). Or  at least, the first level is. Every level after that will set you back with a US$ 2.99 tag and take up 100KB.

Anyways, I'm just hoping that the Genji demo won't be as short as the Blast Factor demo. Man was that uber short. Three or so levels into the demo and I was like "Decontamination stopped?! What the?! I've seen a trailer of this game that's longer than this!" Talk about being a tease. Hope the Genji one isn't just as short...

I like the pricing structure, it's very good, hopefully it'll translate well to Europe.

is horribly addicting and one of my favorite puzzle games. i highly recommend it if you don't own it. for $6 bucks, yeah, definitely worth the purchase.

» What are you guys, nuts?!

$3 PER SUDOKU PUZZLE?! A book of 50 or more would run you about $6-$8. Not to mention you can just direct your PS3 Web Browsers to http://websudoku.com/ and get tons of free sudoku gameplay. This is more of a grab at your wallet than the bloody EA Microtransaction stuff.

Yeah that does seem overpriced, but they're probably going to get people to pay with it.

"Wow that free puzzle was really fun, I suppose it won't hurt to buy one more."
*10 minutes later*
"I suppose one more puzzle wouldn't hurt."
*3 1/2 hours later*
"WHHHHYYYYY!!!!! NOOOOO!!! ALL THAT MONEY!!!!... Well, maybe one more..."

   Re: senjutsu - 2006-12-07
» no, it's not a "level" like that

it's a level like:
easy, medium, hard
packed with a ton of new grids, lol
after you finished them all ( I suppose around 3-5 hours ) you can buy another level(pack of grids)

   Re: Spector - 2006-12-07
 » multiplayer

The way it works is you get a starter pack for free that has all 4 difficulty levels in it (find out which is best for you) then you pay $2.99 for a pack of puzzles on a certain difficulty level.

Easy 516 Puzzles
Mild 376 Puzzles
Difficult 198 Puzzles
Fiendish 98 Puzzles

The free starter pack says it includes 1200 Puzzles with single and multiplayer (the multiplayer actually sounds fun if your into sudoku even the least bit).
Also you get sudoku in HD 1080i (I lol'd at that)
Theres online rankings also.

This is a great value and a great game.

Sorry I was just typing off what my TV screen said. The demo comes with 22 puzzles (added all of them up so that should be right).

 » wow, that's cool

I really wanted to try genji before I buy it! I'm sure it's pretty good but the review are not pretty good :(

but I suppose I shoul dnot trust reviews... gamespot is now a M$ fanboy and IGN didn't loved the 1st anyway... but I really loved the 1st genji, so I suppose I'll love this one too! the only bad thing with genji1 is the gameplay time, I mean, after 10 hours you have finished it.... but I heard in genji 2 it takes more time, about 15-20 hours I heard, dunno.

anyway I'll surely buy my ps3 with bladestorm or heavenly word... dunno, maybe with nothing, and after some days of demo playing, I'll buy something... yeah, that's good :D

 » I tried both...

The genji demo suck.
But the lemmings and sudoku game are very well done.

By the way, I bought Fight night 3 for PS3. If some peoples want to fight with me search for my name. Not now I'm going to sleep. I have to work tomorrow.

 » genji demo

The camera in the Genji demo is really really bad. If that's the way it is in the regular game I can understand some of the sub-par reviews.

The camera always feels way to close to the player and your getting hit by enemies off screen all the time (unless you basically play looking at the radar only).

 » Free Demos Are Great

I am so excited to have found a PS3 in stock at the local funcol@nd. Even though I don't have the bada$$ TV, it's still great. I'm learning new things about it every day. These new demos are just in time too. Lemmings is great and I need a faster wireless router as Gengi is still downloading. I hope that we'll be able to multi-task on the pS3. Right now, it would be great to be surfing on my PS3 as the demo downloads. I have to come upstairs to my PC because the PS3 is dedicated to downloading. All in due time I suppose.
I love technology.

You say that after I came off just playing a bunch of puzzles. Nobody online to play against in the morning though.

Hoping to try out the online multiplayer tonight (comes the free starter pack just with a few options taken away like invite a friend to join).
