Guitar Hero IV to include a lot of other instruments - Image 1

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC) is an extremely fun and popular title, but when the next iteration of the game arrives later this year, we'll probably see it adapt another name since we'll be seeing more instruments for the game.

What?! More instruments? You heard right. According to Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick, we won't just see more instruments, but vocals as well. We'll probably have to call it Band Hero now or something to that effect. According to Kotick:

We'll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It's the first game we've had in which we can use local content and local bands.

Pretty cool. Wonder what they'll add though. Maybe saxophones? Nah. We'll probably see drums and a mic in the package like Rock Band has, but here's hoping they'll be able to add different instruments. Like harps, maybe? Nah.

This is pathetic if they do what I think they will do, which is copy Rock Band. Its a good idea to take on Rock Band at their level but don't do the exact same thing. If so, the I guess the better song list would win - Rock Band.

I'd just want em to focus on a better songlist this time around. Maybe the game titled HEROES should get some REAL GUITAR HEROES this time around.

Well, they're pretty much just copying Rock Band now. Harmonix developed Guitar Hero 1, 2, and Rocks the '80s, and Rock Band.

It's being run by a bunch of money grabbing hacks. Just look at the support they offer in terms of downloadable songs since release of GH3... its pathetic. Where as Harmonix backed RockBand hasn't stopped the downloadable content, its pouring out like a waterfall. Now thats what I call taking care of your fans. What's Neversoft/Activision's answer? Force you to buy more games with novelties like "Aerosmith" themed games.

I heart Harmonix and love their work.

By the time this is out id deifinately like to see some combatability with rock band and guitar hero instruments, the fact the blocked rock band's patch is stupid, it would have only helped them anyways. Might buy this only sence i seem to find more guitar hero songs i like.

 » This is dumb...

I buy Guitar Hero games because I like songs with great guitar stuff. Rock Band is great in terms of being innovative, but the actual tracks on the game are mediocre. I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks this. Way to be a ***** Activision.
