One thing to note, though, is that the lighting effects on the PS3 version are slightly disappointing, only because the shaders used for character shadowing isn’t much of an enhancement over the Xbox version. Check out the screens with the white ninjas – they look nice, but at the same time Black isn’t light-years away (lighting wise) from Sigma. Maybe it’s just the room. You can notice, however, that there are more light sources on the characters in the PS3 version. The Xbox has some of the light sourcing as part of the textures, where-is all the of the light sourcing on the PS3 version seems to be refractive. |

I was disappointed with the Sigma demo...after a few years away (3-4?) it's returned with only very minor signs of improvement. I loved Ninja Gaiden but I didn't want to pay out for basically the same game again with Black so I won't be paying out for the same game again with Sigma.
1st timers to Ninja Gaiden should lap it up though.

Gametrailers has already done a good high definition video comparison with Black and Sigma. It highlights the graphical differences the original Xbox game, the upscaled 360 game, and the PS3 game. If a news story were to be done regarding on a comparison for Ninja Gaiden, it should have been with that rather than these screen shots.

I've played the game on xbox but I never owned an xbox so this is my chance to fully play it. The same goes for Final fantasy 11 for 360. That game came out a while ago on ps2 and while the graphics didn't really have an overhaul, people still bought it since they probably neve played it on ps2.

I think you all have forgot that about the Elite. I have dl'd the Demo for the PS3 unfortunately I only own the First Release of Ninja on the Xbox (A.K.A. Not Black). The Elite Outputs at 1080p on my screen via HDMI. Doing a side by side comparrison of the two via Split Screen mode. There are small differences. Just like the article said... "IN THE DETAILS" that's about it! I just wanted to post this to say that I doubt that the pics from the beggining of the article have been doctored. Ninja Gaiden from the Xbox on the Elite still looks good till this day. All this fanboy'ism back and forth is so silly. True gamers buy both systems and the BEST out of both systems. Each system will have its strengths as well as it weaknesses. In this case Ninja Gaiden isn't THAT MUCH more improved over the original. Didn't Tecmo even come out and say that? I didn't finish the Xbox one and I've already Pre-ordered the PS3 one. Why choose? Pawn/trade-in your PS2's or your Old Xbox's and upgrade to the newer system. Save up and buy the other one. What's the big deal? Each one will have that one exclusive that you will want to play. I see no one even bothered to mention Gears of War. But when Heavenly Sword drops the box will rest untill the next exclusive comes out. One last thing: As far as specs go - we all can flush the specs down the toilet b/c Nintendo proved years ago with Resident Evil 4 that specs don't make your systems any less cabable. Both systems are awesome and I'm just happy to be a gamer in these times. There's nothing wrong with Playing an hour of DOA4 in 1080p then switching over to Tekken:DR and playing an hour in 1080p.
I think you all have forgot that about the Elite. I have dl'd the Demo for the PS3 unfortunately I only own the First Release of Ninja on the Xbox (A.K.A. Not Black). The Elite Outputs at 1080p on my screen via HDMI. Doing a side by side comparrison of the two via Split Screen mode. There are small differences. Just like the article said... "IN THE DETAILS" that's about it! I just wanted to post this to say that I doubt that the pics from the beggining of the article have been doctored. Ninja Gaiden from the Xbox on the Elite still looks good till this day. All this fanboy'ism back and forth is so silly. True gamers buy both systems and the BEST out of both systems. Each system will have its strengths as well as it weaknesses. In this case Ninja Gaiden isn't THAT MUCH more improved over the original. Didn't Tecmo even come out and say that? I find it odd that the people who are saying that they own the original simply cannot see a marked improvement in Sigma, even in the demo version.
I'm not even speaking of small details, that prompt a side by side comparison to see them. We've got higher res textures with more variety, higher poly counts, improved lighting (though not the biggest improvement), and much more improved particles. All that, and there are still people claiming that the differences are minor to the point of comparing screens of varying quality?
Heck, it's hard to miss out on some overhauled areas (there isn't a waterfall in Sigma anymore). So while the Xbox games still look good, the remake is most certainly considerably better looking. It's not even debatable, yet here we are.

To help with the other guys point I pull it out of the article for you... since you didn't catch it: "and they note that while the differences are only noticeable in the details" Ofcourse even the demo look good. Hell its just the first stage of the actual game. Why wouldnt it be slightly or hella improved over a almost 3 year old game on a newer system? But we'll keep it peacfull.
