Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Image 1This week's edition of the Kojima Productions Report podcast has some pretty bad news for those hoping for a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots demo to appear on the PlayStation Network.

According to podcast host Ryan Payton, there are currently no plans of uploading the playable Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots demo on the PlayStation Store. Michael Shelling, Konami's new PR director, echoed Payton's statements, noting that E for All will be gamers' one chance to play it prior to launch.

Konami confirmed earlier this week that a playable demo of the game will be present at the E for All Expo. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is expected to hit retail next year. A PlayStation 3 bundle containing a copy of the game is also reportedly being planned for a pre-Easter release in Europe.

So basically no demo again for another title on PS3. Go Sony.

The game does not even come out until next year, of course there are no plans of a demo at this time. Why would they upload a playable demo from a game convention? We usually have to wait until a week or two before the game comes out before we see something on PSN.

MGS4 is to big of a title to give a demo. I can guarantee you theres a 99.9% chance there wont be a demo.

to see if the game is worth getting, something to sway my 50/50 perspective and not for some free gameplay...

and since everybody with a sound mind already knows this game is owrth playing i don't care about the demo!!!! Bring on MGS4 Kojima-san!!!!

GT4 won't have a demo too, nor assassin's creed will have, and now MGS4. It's NOT a bad thing, it's even great in a way, the way that they're putting more effort into the actual game than it's commercials! :D

@arishay: ?? The xbox 360 won't even have the game so.... And anyway, all big titles won't have demos, at least not before the game pop.

Anyway, it's not like I wanted to try it. I'm gonna buy it (pre-order) since I love the serie. I already have all the other MGS games (on ps1 and ps2, not the old stuff). Same for assassin's creed (I have all pop games). And same for GTA4 (from GTA2). :D

 » Actually

GTA and assassin's creed dont have demos because there games with out levels or checkpoints (stuff like that). Its the open type of games that dont have demos.

I know 150% theres gunna be a demo for Mgs4 later on. There no way that a major title this big wont have a demo (i see it impossible not to have one).

never had demos....it's MORE possible that a big name title will not get a demo....just because execs know that it will sell on it name and hype alone...

 » Ay shatter

If you didnt notice.. im talking about the PS3. So where do you get two 360 games from? Killzone 2 is getting a demo, so im pretty sure Mgs4 will too.
Not being a fanboy but the PS3 and 360 do things differently. Im pretty sure there going to let people try it.

   Re: Master Chef - 2007-10-18
 » Killzone 2...

Is getting a demo because Killzone 1 sucked and they want to assure people that 2 is different so they spend $60 on it, not because it is a big-name title.

But you are right in that Sony and MS do things differently, and I wouldn't be surprised to see an MGS4 demo. Not like you really need one tho, the game will be amazing, guaranteed.

Shatter's right...big name titles dont get demos. They arent needed. Theyll get enough demo-ing in stores and through hype/press coverage. No need to waste time on demos (that are typically lackluster and actually might sway a few people away)

ok 3 things:

1. this is a game made by hideo(sp?) and usaly if he says something its usaly a trick and surprises us later =)

2. do we really need a demo? i mean no matter what this game is going to sell great, it would be nice for the people that cant get it yet but still

3. this is my 1st post here =)
