and then finally the ending to end all endings.. the third movie comes out with the PS3 charging in fighting thru all the odds and proving that it is still the real deal and not a pretend wannabe and thus we have the third blockbuster PS3- The Return Of The King.

Consumer electronics are hardly perfect. Find a single item sold in mass quantity that doesn't have issues. The point you consistently miss is the Xbox was designed poorly and its rep is now paying for it. PS3s are better designed for reliability. Deal with it you fantard.

That's amazing! Haha I love the fact that when it was freezing cold the problem that occurred was due to the cord basically freezing over, heh the PS3 was fine. The XBOX360 would have RROD'd in the first and third tests in no time, and who knows what it would have done once 50F turned into 10F and lower??

My modded 360 would hang in the heat no problem. I'd say the GPU temp wouldn't get past 70 degrees C.
The new improved 360 would do really good too, but it's hard to say who would win because I don't know how much less heat the new chips put out. I demand a test with the new 360!

This is what's different in the "not-so-improved" Elite:
- A tacked-on additional heatsink over the GPU, just barely clearing the capacitors
- Some glue or resin to hold the CPU and GPU in place (Well, so much for improved. I think they opted for modded as well - lol )
- A slightly-less-hard paste to hold the heat sinks
- Some thinner capacitors used
- A surface-mount connection for the HDMI
- A slightly different DVD drive
So let's see what they did to reduce the heating problems: additional tacked-on heatsink, heatsinks which are not so tightly held in place, and oh yes, GLUE. Improved model my ass! Also, some major Design Flaws in the 360 that have to do with the heating are the Cooling Fans - there are just 2 fans sitting at the back of the case pulling hot air through a theoretical 'tunnel' - this tunnel, however, is blocked by part of the metal case.
When these alleged "improved" models come out, and IF they manage to solve the 360's overheating problems, then you can go ahead and say that the 360's design is improved. Until then, the 360's hardware design (concerning cooling) will remain shoddy.

I leave my PS3 on for days at a time for F@H, I already had faith that the system would withstand something like this, but I never would have tried to do this myself. I was able to leave my PS2 for days at a time as well, same with the original PlayStation (not so much anymore though; 6-8 years into its life it started to show its age and started to skip on FMVs). Both were launch systems.

...if you were lucky. I went though 2 of them, and after about 3 months it, it would start skipping regularly. After about a year, it got so bad I couldn't even play any games.

My ps1 still works like a charm. I still have the controller that came with it too, lol. The controller has taken quite a beating but still works. My love for sony's durability came about with the ps2. That thing has been through more than anyone's. People broke into my house and stole it, but luckily the cops came so when they were driving away they threw it out the window to hide the evidence, it landed in a ditch and they were driving about 40 mph when they threw it. It still works to this day, I play guitar hero on it for hours on end. Oh btw, I bought it less than a month after its launch :)

So now I can rest easy knowing that I can leave my ps3 on for a month straight with a game on pause or bring it with me to the gym and leave it on in the sauna while i'm relaxing. You guys should check to see if its waterproof.. go on.. check.. if your really this dedicated to your systems immortality then dunk it in a pool of water and lets see if it sinks or swims.

then things started to heat up in the second instalment and the plot and dilemmas starts to unfold so now we have the sequel called XBox 360- The Two Towels.
and then finally the ending to end all endings.. the third movie comes out with the PS3 charging in fighting thru all the odds and proving that it is still the real deal and not a pretend wannabe and thus we have the third blockbuster PS3- The Return Of The King.

The PS3 is an amazing bit of hardware, but does it really matter if it will still play at 0 degrees? At 120 degrees? 99.5% of gamers play in a "family room" setting.
Despite the fanboy flamewar that will always continue, keep in mind that if one system didn't exist the other would ruin console gaming. With no competition what would stop them?

Yes they did have some better games at release then PS3, yes it came out sooner and at a cheaper price than PS3, yes the REM song for gears of war did make me want to buy an Xbox360, but then I came to notice this is the same company that made Windows.... and we all know how "well" windows runs... oh wait it doesn't. someone posted a thread that their friends ps3 broke and he couldnt get it to work! when the person went to his friends, he found that he had wrapped duct tape all over his ps3's air vents to stop dust getting into it thinking he was protecting his investment!!!

Sigh, can't people understand how much of a limitation of without a large storage optical media for the 360 can be? Had they include an internal HD-DVD rom this wouldn't have happened, all 360 has over PS3 is the unified memory and that had been worked around for the PS3...whatever...if people want to believe hardware wise PS3 sucks they can, but we all know the truth very well...
