Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 - Image 1 Here's a stern warning coming from Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH and Play.com: Players found cheating in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS)'s online tournament matches will be disqualified from the competition and will be banned for a year from the online ranking system.

This statement was issued following the ban of one of the game's leading online players due to cheating. Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH did not elaborate on the details, but stressed its commitment to keep its turf clean.

An online tournament is currently going on to honor pre-order promises to the game's customers. Under the pre-order promo, everyone who ordered the game in advance would receive an invitation to join the PES 2008 tilt. Finalists will be flown to Wembley on March 15th to 16th, 2008 for the grand finals.

At stake during the championship round is a whopping £50,000. Add to that the bragging rights involved, and it gives you an idea of what motivated some to do a bit of dirty work to grease the wheels.

Only the scum of the scum would cheat online. Those people deserve to be dragged out into the street and beaten to death.

» Someone is too much into their video games...

I agree with you, but being dragged out onto the street and beaten to death? Unless you were kidding, thats a bit harsh. Maybe give them a bit less of a punishment. I mean, its only a game.

 » f*** you

if u have/ever have had a girlfriend or wife, im sure uve cheated on her, which is way worse than cheating on a video game, yet u still ive and proly dont think u should be beaten to death

that is if you arent too "nerd" to have ever had one, let alone one to cheat with

   Re: bloody0986 - 2008-03-09
 » Woah! WTF!!!

Okay, first what does cheating on your wife/girlfriend have to do with games? I'm just saying why should people who cheat on GAMES have to die for it? IT IS JUST A GAME! Get over it! Of course, I also don't like cheaters who cheat ONLINE. They should only cheat on Campaign/Story Mode at least.

P.S. No I don't have a girlfriend or wife. I don't care, I'm still pretty young and have a long way to go before I am ready for a wife. (Or even could legally have one.) And when did gamers turn into nerds?

» Beat them, but let them live...

If you are caught cheating in a casino, kiss your butt goodbye. Same rule applies here, money is involved so you have to be strict with these people. How many time have you played COD4 and found some ass who could not be dropped. They deserve a public flogging. If the don't have the skills they need to work on it not cheat, cheaters never improve, so really they are not only cheating us but themselves as well. If you want to cheat do it in single player mode, keep your ass offline because we will brutalize you.

they shouldn't be "drug out onto the street and beaten to death".

If they were raping your wife, or girlfriend, then yes.

Cheating in a video game? What does that effect? A scoreboard that people other than gamers don't give a ***** about? Pffttt.

Their punishment was fair, moving on.

» lol raping your wife or girlfriend

buddy you cant rape the willing, you may call it rape so might your wife or gf to justify her cheating on you but in all actuality she was enjoying every minute of it which is why she didnt want the police involved.

» Get a grip to the rest of you, not the original poster

Ya know, it amazes me how stupid and ridiculous you all sound. Jumping on the guy for emphasizing an emotional expression about how he feels about cheaters. You can not tell me that a single one of you actually believes he seriously thinks that cheaters should be beat to death... it is hyperbole, but the sad thing is, most of you probably don't even know what that word means... so go look it up and grow up while you are at it. Get off the guys back.

And to flammingcowz comment above, how old are you anyway? If you are over the age 21, I have to say you are pretty immature. I personally doubt you have had a wife, much-less a girlfriend to have cheated on... The fact that you think cheating is something that happens in every relationship could be due to mommy issues or something far worse.

You see, I am 34 years old, I too hate cheaters and have used my fair share of hyperbole. I have had more relationships than I can count, and personally have never cheated on a single one of them. So either wait till you hit puberty before trying to pretend at being an adult, or, if you truly are over the age of 21, then I suggest you take a real hard look inside and realize that its time to grow up... you are not in high school anymore.

» Maybe you should really read the posts.

Maybe you should actually read our posts first before you make fun of us. I even said "Unless you were kidding, thats a bit harsh." Written exactly like I said it earlier. Anyway some people are crazy enough for video games to actually kill people who cheat. You never know.

 » f*** u too

im 16, hit puberty years ago, so dont even start that bull*****, ive also had more girlfriends than i can count, cheated on at least half, and i dont care what u say about my parents

Just because of this "warning" I will now cheat. As soon as I get the PC version I plan to cheat until I get caught.

The key is to not cheat too much.

Hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
