An article with good news that clarifiys something people were wondering about and we get the ol negative "THE PRICE MAN THE PRICE!!!!" comment thrown in for good measure.
I knew Sony would come out with something to get old saves to the PS3.
haha to below, you all got owned.
Nice to know that Sony hasnt (word deleted for the benefit of good taste. Careful! ^_^) us over like M$ did, forgetting about the last generation, and releasing a rushed, "next-gen" console, they should have waited just a tad before releasing the console, i know they are trying to fix this with emulators but they cant do anything about the saves, or even bothered, cant wait to play the good ol' PSX gems like MGS in 1080p :p
its probably going to be around $20-25, because that is what most of their accecories are when they first come out, then they come down in price.
ever since it was first said old memory card slots will not be used, i thought thay would make and adapter. and hush i agree, whats wrong with QJ and thare "THE PRICE OH THE PRICE" comments? come on we get it already it costs alot of money, shut up about it
If sony loved us, they'll let us transfer over kiosks of game shops, at price of 2~5 dollar or something(per memory card), not some accesory for us to BUY.
but what if you have over 4 memory cards (i do). it'd wind up costing you $20 anyway, so why not just buy the adaptor?
i also thought that you could use the PSP Media Manager thingamajig to transfer saves to a PSP Memory stick. i assumed that if you could do that, you could then transfer the saves on the memory stick, to the saves on your PS3 hard drive at some point.
i guess i was wrong about that though.
I agree with #7 about the PSP Memory Stick Pro Duo for Saved Games. We have Duo Adapter to transfer PS1/PS2 Saved Games to PS3 Harddrive. If that'll work then we don't need to buy $20 PS1/PS2 Adapter. Whether or not, PS1 Game Download might play on PS3 by transfering PSP MS Pro Duo Adapter to PS3 Harddrive after firmware 3.00 released for the PSP. Maybe Ripped UMD might play on PS3 via Memory Stick to Harddrive. Even Movies, Picture and more will come to PS3 directly from the little brother "PSP"! I would love to play around with my PSP on PS3 to check to see if something will work as magic!

Those were also my thoughts... but you put them much better than I could.
As for the PSP media manager, you would have trouble doing that sort of transfer if you didn't own one. If sony forced people to own a PSP so they could play their old saves, Sony would end up making a lot of loyal fans angry.
Hence I'm wondering what kind of invention they have to take care of our old saves.
What if you can play PS1 games on your PSP, then when you come home, your save files are synched and you can play on your PS3 continuously, without any other need to manually copy the saves.
That's a nice idea:P
At least now itll be easier to try out gamesaves
that is a kewl idea.
the good ol' PSX gems like MGS in 1080p :p
HDTV's work by blowing up the image. Thats why certains signals look worse on a HDTV than a SDTV.
Just wondering how old PS1 games will look?
u can already do this wit the ps2 wit ur psp i dont see y we couldnt do this on da ps3
i want 1!
