PS3 CrossBar Menu Demo

We've shown you previews before of the PS3's crossbar menu, although they're nice, nothing beats a good presentation (as Steve Jobs prooves) from the company itself. Yeah, we know, Sony Corporation's Executive Phil Harrison is no Steve, thing is, he does a pretty good job of showing off the PS3's interface at the TGS 2006. Yeah, we know this is a bit dated, but it's a nice look regardless.

Take a look at the vid above. As expected, we get the PSP interface again. It's a Sony thing. It's doing it with all their new products now-a-days. Anyway, what's interesting about this crossbar menu is that it seems to run smoother on the PSP. Sony also seems to be set on making the PS3 your all-around media center. As the video shows, it's got a pretty nice built-in slide show and media player apps, and even a multi-window web browser.

Sony also promised that you will be able to access the content stored in your PS3 using the cross-media bar in your PSP. Although it really didn't demonstrate how that's done, that should prove to be a hit with fans.

Will Sony's "all-your-media-are-belong-to-us" tactic justify their console's hefty price tag? Will it win them the console war? If floor presence is any indication, then things look reasonably bright for Sony.

it stil lacks that PVR function, and can't be added with firmware updates since thares no input for tv to come in, that also blows away any thoughts of using it as a location free base station for thare psp's
