Ray Maguire - Image 1Ray Maguire, managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment UK, had this to say to GamesIndustry.biz: "We have had an incredible positive response from our partners in UK retail." Maguire also was quick to add the positive feedback on pre-orders and waiting customers.

Soon Sony will be able to sit down with their counterpart retailers in the UK and finalize their plans for a full-blown UK launch. Seeing as SCE thought most Europeans didn't seem to mind the delay to start with, this initial reaction is probably a surprise to them.

Since the official announcement yesterday, Sony expects to ship one million units at launch day, to be sold side-by-side with around 30 titles for the platform. This unprecedented stock allocation, Maguire believes, could be the largest and most solid launch line up in the history of their business.

But for customers in the UK and the rest of Europe, what happens on March 23 will ultimately decide.

 » UK Launch

I believe PS3 is gonna sell more in the UK than in the US for many reasons. Best reason i can come up with is cuz of the 30 launch titles that is going to be available come launch and the fact that i doubt that the UK has as much PS3 haters as the US does.

 » 30 launch titles

Most of the 30 launch titles have been available on the 360 for quite some time now and can be bought for less than what they will cost on the PS3 at launch so unless they are hardcore PS fans this really won't make a huge difference.

although it is true that some of the launch games have been available for the 360 for a while, it is only half of them. The launch line is also shaping up better than those of both the wii and the 360, which were slightly disappointing, although red steel was quite fun. also, some of the launch games are downloadable only PS3 exclusives
