"Is it real?" asks the guy in the vid. That's what we'd like to know. A PS3 Slim was spotted at a street market retailer in the Philippines, where customers inquire as to the authenticity of the new model. Legit or fake? Watch the vid and see for yourself.

From the looks of it, the retailer is trying to sell the PS3 Slim to hesitant customers who don't seem to have been to the rumor mill. From previous leaks that we've gathered, the PS3 Slim supposedly ships to Japan early July, so right now would qualify for that margin. If indeed PS3 Slims are making their way to Japan, it's highly probable that piracy got hold of a few shipments and sent them to street markets all over.

This remains a rumor, although the picture of a PS3 Slim announcement is becoming much clearer than the blurry video we just saw. If it's fake, then hats off to the guys who fabricated the hoax and may they find a better use of their time. But if it's legit, we could be hearing the big announcement from Sony soon. TGS, perhaps?

 » Yes this is true

Guys sorry to say but this video is positive and true, i'm from the Philippines and this video was taken in Greenhills mall,San Juan Metro Manila, i also saw the unit by myself but, the fact is that i really don't know if its working because they didnt test it ( because they won't ), i only saw the ps3 itself but not playing with it, they only say its not out in the market yet, and its somewhat a prototype thing, well i think my speculation is thta someone got it from either from factories in China, or they did go to Japan ...

Sa mga pinoy mabuhay tayo dyan!, basta pagdating sa kalokohan nauuna parin ang mga pinoy! akalain mong may ps3 slim na pala dito haha! ...

 » Pare...

Sa Greenhills pa. Many of the s*** they sell in Greenhills are fake. It's the Santee of LA except they have way better imitations.

That PS3 will definitely not work. But then again there are a lot of get techs and whatnot in the Philippines so maybe it works?:/

The VIDEO is probably real, but the PS3 is probably fake. You know how it is.. You walk through Market Market! and go to that little corner with all the pirated games and DVDs and you even see real looking game boxes with Pokemon Electric Blue or something and a rare Pokemon on it. Looks real, but when you play it, it looks about as amazing as Pong.

Philippines is nice, definitely not as great as what you're saying (if I read it correctly).. But at least you have pride !

That's probably an old Family Computer cased on a so called PS3 Slim..
I've seen so many Family Computer cased on a PSone back in the old days. Even the PS2 has it..

 » Yeah..

That things actually a fake PSP phone as well and apparently sells for $650 even though it only plays the less graphically intense games like the original mario....

I know. Sony should take a hint already and release a Playstation phone.

Yeah sure. And because its so real and world exclusive he didn't even bother to even try to make some useable video.
"Look here, the camera is shaking like an earthquake and the camera had the grandma-forgot-her-glasses mode on. But its really real."

 » Of course this

is real ! For 3 reasons :

- it appeared in a 3rd world asian country
- it has been made in 5onys factory which is in the little country of Fakistan
- it has been captured with a HD camera while playing original ps3 games

how anything that could be amazing or a breakthrough of anykind, has to be videod on a camera from the stoneage? why would this be ANY different? :P
its too hard to tell if its real or not. if you say you've seen this ps3 tinjastin go down there for us with a decent camera and prove us wrong :)

 » hmmmm

I think is a store in the Phils has this, it is probably just a Chinese rip off, as some have already stated.

There was a chinese PSP rip-off that looked exactlly the same except it used cartridges for it's games....and the game looked like they belonged on the original Gameboy....

   by sickofitall - 2009-07-13
» i think it is real

why go through all of this trouble to make an imitation.

   Re: Shatterdome - 2009-07-13
 » this is why....

http://pspupdates.qj.net/PSP-Chinese-Version/pg/49/aid/65628

check out how many rip offs there are of the PSP....this is probably the same thing.

   Re: Cydonos - 2009-07-14
 » What trouble?

The video is so low quality and the camera is moving around so much in an obvious attempt to hide defects in their cardboard PS3

   Re: sickofitall - 2009-07-14
 » wow

lol, I guess you are right. The paint did seem glossy though.
   by tomdabomb57 - 2009-07-13
 » How much?

it would have been nice if they included the price for it in the vid, it would have given a better idea to see if it was fake or not.

   by Lethal_NFS - 2009-07-13

This must be real because everyone knows that the Philippines get everything first.........

   by RexNox - 2009-07-13

Bigfoot video, yes? Or should we say, Smallfoot? People all around the world should make videos like this one. If this is real, I hope the plug comes with a circuit breaker.
