Mini chat-board to improve Home communication - Image 1Want that PlayStation 3 wireless keypad but you don't want to cough up the 50 bucks? Here's an alternative you might want to consider.

It's the new mini chat-board from Speedlink. It's not as nice and glossy as the official PS3 keypad, but it's lighter on the wallet. It costs EUR 29.99 (US$ 41).

The product description only mentions the keyboard function, so you won't get the touchpad feature that the official Sony one has. But it's still ten bucks cheaper, so what do you expect?

The keyboard is powered by two AA batteries, and connects to the PlayStation 3 via a 2.4GHz USB receiver. It will be available in European territories sometime this month.

That looks horrible and it's missing all the shortcut keys. Better off paying the extra $20.

 » $4 less

Sony Wireless Keypad is $45 on Amazon, and seems way better than that one.

4 less only according to yoh.
Saving 4 dollars will get you:
-no touchpad
-horrible looking thing.
-something that uses a 2.4ghz frequency which is by far *****tier then bluetooth
-2.4 ghz dongle that you need to stick on your ps3 ports which effectively takes up one port and sticks out making your ps3 look ugly.

 » eeeewwwwww

Its ugly, lame power option (not rechargeable) and it doesn't even use Bluetooth.

My opinion : avoid at all cost, i would rather pay $80 for the official keypad than pay $5 for this piece of junk.

I've got that for my HTPC. It's a pain. It's missing key buttons to use all by itself. So you have to keep going back and forth between it and the PS3 controller. But as a keyboard it rocks!

The mad catz one is 30 bucks and it recharges with a usb cord like the ps3 controller, I own that one and I leave it un connected from the controller. It is easier just to pick it up and start typing than having that bulky looking controller attachment.
