Sony PlayStation 3 - Image 1Interesting rumors have surfaced on the UK PlayStation 3 Magazine (PSM3), ranging from an intriguing sequel to a Microsoft Xbox 360 title making its way to the Sony PS3 to the disheartening delay of the widely anticipated in-game XMB feature.

According to PSM3's supposed insider, the in-game XMB is indeed coming but not in a few months. That's the only bad news, since the rest of rumor tidbits all say good things are coming to Sony's console.

The insider claimed that a major Xbox 360 title will go cross-platform in its next iteration, while Ubisoft also has big offerings for the PS3 waiting to be announced come Ubidays 2008 this May. Alive, Assassin's Creed 2, and the next Prince of Persia game are expected to be unveiled at the event.

Even with upcoming games, however, Sony's biggest guns this year are said to be more on PS3 firmware and PlayStation Network features. PSM3's rumormonger brought up "‘trophies or achievements to rival the Xbox Live system,” something Sony has been talking about since 2006.

...for in-game XMB for a while, but I'm going to go mental if Home doesn't come out sooner rather than later.

 » Misleading title.

It says PS3 to get other good stuff. Where is the other good stuff that the PS3 is getting? A major 360 title to go multiplatform? Pfft. There is a reason why I bought the PS3 over the 360 in the first place and I bet it will be another lame game with the announcement like when Lost Planet was going multiplatform. Assassin's Creed blows and there really doesn't need to be another one after that flop. Plus, I see no mention of HOME.

This is just a reminder that in-game XMB is far off. I guess the title would be more accurate if it said "in-game XMB not coming soon, PS3 to get a *****ty port of a lame game & sequels to more garbage.

 » actually

Isn't that microsoft exclusive going multiplat rumored to be mass effect 2? I've heard mass effect is something not to be trifled with by any means, although I've never played it. I think that's probably the "exclusive going multi" announcement rumor type thing

Assassin's Creed in my opinion is half baked.. Not a quality title like they made it seem it was going to be..

 » Trophies >< Home

where do you think the trophies and achievments are going to be in your imagination? NO they are in HOME. i take it you never watched the HOME videos from PSN.

   Re: Someone_PR - 2008-03-16
 » I just think that...

the accomplishments in home are just a room to see it... I think it will be just like the 360 in your profile and all.. remember like they say it... home is optional because you have to install it in your hard drive. If you want to see a trophie of one of your friend just vie the profile and I think in home is just a fancy way to view your trophies and of your friends.

Anyway is just what I think and what I hope...

» Home should definitely hit by the end of this year

If not, then Sony has a lot of problems, they seriously need to make PSN more interesting to have any chance of beating XBL. There's no dispute basically that XBL is currently the best integrated online service of any consoles to date.

 » NOOOOOOOOO

WHY?!?!? I NEED IN-GAME XMB!!! but not really. i'd just like having it. do you think that we will be able to access our music in-gam? thats what i really want. my music while playing games.

   Re: Eclipze_ - 2008-03-17
 » yea

The first things I think will come with in-game XMB is in-game messeaging and in-game music. One thing I'm not sure of but I really want to be there if their taking this long is in-game chat (like with mics).
