The XBOX 360 "doesn't even work" "are they going to be refurbishing them for 10 years?" Is it just me or did that sound really unprofessional?

You know, as much as I like the PS3, this kind of misadventures by Sony PR really bugs me.
I agree, Microsoft's (and Toshiba's) bribe to Paramount and Dreamworks will serve to keep HD-DVD alive a little longer. However, by that time, it may even be too late for Blu-ray as well, as Microsoft is angling through its bribe to kill both formats and push its own downloading idea forward.
And anyone who says the UMD format was anything but a failure is a blind Sony fanboy. Who in his/her right mind would spend 20+ dollars on a movie which they can only see on the PSP, and which they probably already have on DVD? They should have made it possible to rip DVDs onto UMDs from the get-go, or at the very least have sold UMD movies really cheap, preferably between 5-10 dollars. That might have saved the format.
And although I love PS3 games (some of those out as well as the ones coming out - currently I have RFOM, Darkness, NGS and Warhawk) and the other things offered by the PS3 (Blu-ray player, powerful multimedia machine, superb and reliable games console), I do think that the comment comparing PSN downloadable games to XBL downloadable games was ill-advised, as it made him look like a fool and made Sony PR appear pathetic.

im not gonna get warhawk since 1) it only has five measly maps (unless it lowers in price to around $5-10) and 2) i dont even turn my ps3 on but maybe once a month. if those reasons arent satisfactory to you then too bad...

For the people that seem to be against WarHawk; You haven't played it so you can't even begin to say that it isn't worth the money. First of all, the game can be purchased online cheap. It's more than worth it. For those who won't reason to buy the bluray because its $60, you fail to remember that its for people who need the headset. I didn't own a headset and so I bought the headset version in store. It works perfectly and I use it, so it wasn't a loss of money to me. As far as the maps? Theres more than 5 maps, you got your facts *****ed up. Needless to say--the gameplay is amazing. Three ways to play. Plus online stats, with ranks and recognition. They fixed the bug on their servers so it doesn't boot people out anymore. They WILL add content to the game since its only a multiplayer platform. I have a friend who comes over and plays with me split screen on an online server. Thats pretty badass since his ps3 doesn't even have internet access yet. They thought of everything. They deserve a lot of credit for producing a solid product. I think that warhawk could possibly be a system seller.

In over two years Micrsoft has created 7 games for their own online service 3 of which scored 75 or more, and has announced one more title..

I think you are right about the Turtles though, everything went downhill for that license after the first arcade version.
If they enabled homebrew on any of the systems you'd have your big screen versions. I believe there are already some emulators out for PS3-Linux in spite of the crippled RSX. Thats one of the big reasons why Sony is deadset against allowing true homebrew.
They wouldn't be able to resell their old catalog without having to upgrade it. We already know PS3 is capable of emulating PS1 and PS2 in software, and i wouldn't doubt that the 360 could do the same, and vice versa for Xbox compatibility. If either side had guts they'd be relasing PS1, PS2 and XBox classics for each others online services. They are too busy trying to leverage it into new console sales though.

there IS very little content on psn compared to xbl. i was on my ps3 just two days ago to watch a bluray movie (Resident Evil 2) and after waiting 10 minutes to install an update that on 360 would have taken 10 seconds i checked out the psn store, and there were only one or two new videos (not demos) since the month before i turned my ps3 on last. i then proceeded to download the handful of demos that the psn actually has so that when i sell my ps3 to my buddy he can have those demos ready to go since i traded in what ps3 games i did have (RFoM, MS, and NG:S) to get a few 360 games since so many good ones are coming out lately.
to put it short on how i feel about the ps3, i just dont care, or better yet im not interested. i bought a ps3 to see which console was better to ME and to form my own opinion of it without just going on what i hear from others, and i came to realize that the ps3 just doesnt meet my expectations. if i only owned a ps3 i can see where most of these people are coming from, to them im sure warhawk is just dandy and lair will be a breath of fresh air despite the reviews and all is wonderful in the land of the playstation. but that isnt the case, because i also own a 360 and i get a lot more entertainment out of it than i do my ps3. sure, there will be a game or two that i might want to play after i sell my ps3 a few years from now, but right now there isnt anything that interests me, and one or two games isnt enough to make me want to hold onto my ps3.

By the way I own a ps3 but i agree with AoxomamoxoA the content is rubbish on PS3 but i didnt buy the PS3 really for gaming as im only a very casual gamer compared to what I used to be so this console suits me fine. My family watches films on it, we are currently watching Heroes via dlna on it, we view holiday photos on it, listen to music with it. Next year we will be watching and recording tv with it thanks to PlayTV (though it remains to be seen how well they pull this off). And occasionally i will dabble with the ps3 games but im quite happy with playing my old ps2 games on it. So it works well as a multimedia center in a living room iv never cared much for pcs really but as a games console its rubbish im afraid to say. It will have its good games but they will be far and few between as now(but thats fine wit me cas i dont intend to buy that many games for it). Sony got it right as a multimedia centre which is what i think they were trying to do/ still are but not as a gamers machine sounds odd but it makes sense. See that Square article they say the same thing that Sony need to shift tactics to make it appealing to gamers.
I do enjoy Warhwak and its not big on content but its great gameplay its balanced alal paper rock scissors which it makes up for plus its the only real decent multiplayer for the PS3. I am looking for ward to UT3 supports mods from pc and keyboard mouse even cross play which the 360 cant do due live not being open servers. But apart from that not muchelse this yr I wud like killzone 2 but to much pressure is put on it i jus cant see our expectations met. When im working just finished Uni, I will get a 360 as a games machine but right now im not to fussed.

Myself I think the xbox hardware is a crock of ***** but I just bought a second one as the first was truly dead. My reason for buying another 360 with all the risks of it breaking down after 8 months is that I love the games and Bioshock really rocks. Thats my opinion.

I give xbox 360 this year but i don't care if they have a lot of arcade games. I am bored of classic and arcade games, I played them a 100 times and they are old. They do have some good new games they made but feels about the some amount as platstation. I really like warhawk because its a actual game, most likely socom too. Gears of war was good but it had way to many glitches and the singe player was way to short. The last games i am buying for the 360 is most likely halo 3 and mass effect.

what i dont get, are all the comments about having to get a second job jst to afford a ps3. this is bull. im 15 and i work part-time at a supermarket and i payed for mine all by myself (not "mummy")

hey i commend you in every way, in fact i'm usually very happy to see your posts. I have not insulted you yet, but i do see you saying some insulting things even when they're not fully deserved. Quixands even worse on that matter, but as a 20 yo college student, i dont quite understand the fight. No one is dying over this "war". A man once came up to me in ebgames and stated Ps3 is the best system, has more games, better graphics, even saying lies such as ps3 has better games like gta and dmc4(which as you know are on 360), but i didnt say anything, there was no point, in the end it was his lost my win, and i didnt say anything, that is the point i am making.
There are alot of idiot on here,-trailer guy,ps3 has better games guy, ps3 has better online service guy, wii has better graphics than 360 guy, but in the end they're just idiots.

Don't come to a ps3 community to sell how great your xbox 360 is. I don't care? If I honestly wanted to hear about someones 360 i'd go to a 360 community. Now you force me to sift through message upon message of dumbasses arguing about how they hate the ps3 or the ps3 isn't giving enough content compared to the 360. Where did you go to school, at 13 with this kind of BS school is obviously over. My PS3 is a movie player -- that's it!!!! OMG, Lair sucked, it was like a movie instead of a game, and it had been wrought with developers getting injured and their relatives dying and stuff. They started on the PS2 with that game. LOL
