PlayStation 3 gets PiMPStreamer DLNA - Image 1After some time, DickyDick1969 has come back to the scene with a new release. DickyDick1969 has released PiMPStreamer DLNA for PS3, which appears to allow for unlimited file sharing options from PC to PS3.

DickyDick1969 didn't say much about it, as the actual application lacks a readme. That being said though, he appears to have created an easy-to-use DLNA media server where you can share specific files that are in your system by adding or removing directories. Just add specific folders with copies of particular videos and pictures you want to share to your PS3, and you're done.

For those who have used PiMPStreamer in the past, you may want to try out this pimped out PS3 version. Enjoy!

 » tversity

ive been using a similar pc app called tversity, up until now. same thing, you point it folders and it indexes them so that you can access it via the ps3. the only problem is that it is slow to index the new files. maybe this new app monitors for changes to the folders it monitors rather than doing a daily file scan

I got nero from bittorrent, but it seems nero7 works better than nero 8. Nero 7 would convert most anything, but Nero 8 won't convert for me. Nero 7 is the best, but Nero Media Home 8 is better than anything else I've tried. But I will try this, I try them all.

A little slow loading movies, but it works. Seems to be much less of a system hog than Nero or Windows media. Speed suffers, but If you are willing to wait a minute it works fine, and it's a realy small download.
