PlayStation Day update: There is no LittleBigPlanet open beta - Image 1New details regarding the beta phase of the upcoming LittleBigPlanet title over at the UK's PlayStation Day event have been revealed. According to community dev manager Sam Bennett, and producer Pete Smith, the game will indeed be going through a closed beta test, to be handled by Sony's crew.

Now, in case you're wondering when they'll be opening this test phase up for the public, that's where the bad news comes in. The pair further confirmed that there are no plans to launch an open beta phase for LittleBigPlanet, though there are plans to invite select players to join the closed beta team.

Not that Media Molecule's going to leave us high and dry until LittleBigPlanet's projected October launch, though. The pair noted that a demo will be arriving before launch, though details regarding this possibility are still hazy. Those are the latest details we have regarding the upcoming plans for LittleBigPlanet. Drop by again in case we run into any more information.
