PS3 - Image 1Hot on the heels of the rumored redesign of Sony's PlayStation Store comes more rumblings about the addition of a video download service to the online store.

According to Kotaku, sources who attended the retailer and publisher-focused Destination PlayStation conference held last week confirmed that Sony showed of part of the video store during the event.

The company has yet to comment on any specifics such as launch dates, content, and pricing. Kotaku further reports that North America may be getting the service first, and that, not unexpectedly, the only offerings shown were those owned by Sony Pictures.

If Sony did show off the video downloading service during the event, however, it could mean that it's getting pretty close to completion. Let's all just keep our fingers crossed. We'll be sure to bring you more news as soon as details surface.

 » wow...

only shows the front page but I really like it... and if this is how the PS Store will look like I will like it too... better than now which I like it too but the PS Store have too many things now and browsing is a nightmare

What I see it have everything... the what's new, top downloads... the search now is better than the tabs and have ads too. I can see that will display more content in the front page but... how will look in a SD TV? I have a HD TV so is not that important to me but so many people are still in the SD era...

I think they are remodeling the store so it looks the same for HDTV & SDTV owners since there were so many complaints about the old style.

That probably won't happen since the font would be huge on the HDtvs. Not to mention spacing, picture size, and other little things make that idea unlikely. The complaints these people should have is with their TV.

 » well...

the complaint was actually with the content.. beside 10 things it was what? 5? I don't know and it was difficult for them... but now they can just rid of the what's new and the tops downloads with the same amount of content in the screen no that will be up to down and now left to right... just my guess
