Veering away from its traditional guitar simulation setup, Guitar Hero World Tour extends your rock star fantasies by adding an entirely new instrument to your budding virtual band. Who better to test out the new drum peripherals on the latest iteration to the Drum- er, Guitar Hero series than Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Chad Smith. Activision and Neversoft employed the help of Smith and several other notable drummers to break in the new instrument for the game. The Police's Steward Copeland gave his opinion on how the drum peripheral's reduced design made it a much more convenient instrument to play on compared to its real-life counterpart. Travis Barker, drummer of pop punk band +44, even took part in the development of the motion capture animations built into the game. All in all, everything seems to be looking up for the latest Guitar Hero title as gamers look forward to rocking it out once again on the virtual stage. Don't take our word for it, though. You can check out the video found on the source link and judge it for yourself. Guitar Hero World Tour is expected to be released this Fall and will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Wii. |
