PlayTV - Image 1French retailer Micromania has dated PlayTV. According to the company's official website, gamers based in France can expect the accessory to be available by April 30 this year.

For those who aren't too familiar with PlayTV, it is a twin-channel DVB-T tuner with a built-in digital TV recorder which allows the PlayStation 3 to record television programs on its hard drive. Interestingly enough, the recorded video can be transferred to the PSP via USB, thus allowing users to watch their favorite programs while out of the house.

According to our previous report, PlayTV is officially set to be released in Spring 2008 in UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, and France. While we're inclined to believe this announcement, it might be good to wait for an official announcement from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe just to be sure.

Thanks to Pitichat for the hot tip!
