Ó

Way back in July, we featured an article about Team Bondi developing the next-gen crime thriller game, L.A. Noire. Not much is yet known about the game, aside from its PS3 exclusivity and that the setting will be L.A. circa 1940s. Now, we've just gotten news that the ever-controversial Rockstar Games of the Grand Theft Auto fame (or infamy, depending where you stand), will publish L.A. Noire.

lanoireAustralia-based Team Bondi is currently developing L.A. Noire, and even though Bondi is a relatively new company, having been founded just three years ago, the studio seems to have experience when it comes to big crimes in big cities. Why, you ask?

Well, Team Bondi's founder is Brendan McNamara, the one who directed the PS2 game The Getaway back when he was still with SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment) Europe's Team Soho.

McNamara will once again sit on the director's chair as he is the director of development for L.A. Noire. Helping him with the game is Rockstar co-founder and the game's executive producer, Sam Houser.

According to the company website, Team Bondi is currently looking for people to fill the following positions: 3D rendering, car modeler, senior gameplay programmer, 3D animators, and many more. If you're looking for a career in the game industry, check out the company's website and maybe you'll get a chance to add to the 80 people that are currently working for the company.

Anyway, going back to L.A. Noire, the game was originally revealed last year as a PS3-exclusive thriller game but at this point, it looks like that exclusivity might soon be put into question, what with all the buzz on Nintendo's Wii. Sam Houser describes L.A. Noire as being "open-ended", and looks like speculations about the game's release date will remain that way too as there have been no further announcements and details about the game. We will inform you as soon as we get more details.

and PS3 exclusive? I'm sold.

As long as it retains the quality of GTA, even tho it's not made by rockstar...

 » Hmm

God I hope the "L.A." in the title doesn't stand for Los Angeles. LA is a boring cesspit of a city, always has been always will be.
