GTA V? - Image 1

While some are still not over Niko Bellic and Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3, Xbox 360) and still play it in the livingroom, rumor has it that Rockstar North is already planning to launch a fifth title in the franchise.

We're not talking about new DLC or a collection of previously available DLC, we're talking about a full retail game. We expect this title to follow the suit of previous GTAs and use a subtitle such as GTA: San Andreas, etc. Tokyo might be a possible setting for the game, but details are non-existent at this time.

This is according to Loose Talk in the latest issue of Game Informer.

They seem to be in such a hurry, don't they? Well as long as the game comes out nice, then why not?

Don't rush some junk out the door 'cuz you know it will sell (as if we didn't have enough of this already). Take time, PLEASE be a innovator not just the sake of pumping out more garbage (ea i'm looking @ you)

GTA Vice City came out a year after GTA3 and is considered a masterpiece in gaming. Rockstar did not have to create a new engine from the ground up, so even if this IS true, I would have expected it to be released in 2010. It is possible that this new game was in the works before GTA4 was even released though, which is most likely what happened.

I'm not too hyped up myself but if this is true, then cool. It's just a huge rumor though.

 » damit again

oookay and here is the game begain
as i remember every GTA game has its sequances based on its engine as
GTA one : GTA london (built on the same engine as GTA one)
GTA 2 : hmmm idk a lot about it
GTA III: this one was the first 3rd person shooter in the GTA series and it was really a great start lol and it had so many sequeces for it as :
1- vice city
2-vice city stories
3-liberary city stories
4-san andrease
-----
and now its time for GTA IV hope to get nice games on its engine and a psp game would be nice too lol

It was bound to happen. Like NEOL already said, all GTA titles had spinoffs using the same engine. With every number a new timeline begins. That's why the "Liberty City" of GTA3 is so different form the Liberty City of GTA4.

» GTA5 will be good if it's anything like GTA4

As long as it has the same gameplay mechanics, new missions, and hopefully a few different extras, then I'll say it's most likely going to be good.

The only thing I hope for GTA5 is that it's the same or better graphics but this time in Vice City. Just calm down with all the lens flare, please Rockstar?

dont hate on me but i thought gta4 sucked, it didnt have the original feel to it like gta3 and vice city so i think if they do pull out another one it will definatly be better than gta4

 » Why??

Why is there so much GTA IV hating around? Seriously, I could not be more proud of being a day-1 GTA IV owner. In the month (exactly) I was blown away and that April was truly a gaming highlight of my year, and I didn't stop playing it then, it entertained me for months, and months on end with its amazing multiplayer, and just general GTA sanbox awesomeness. Then when Rockstar released the Trophy patch I relived that awesome April in two weeks. Seriously, can't you handle what truly was GOTY?

 » meh.

GTA4 was good but by no means GOTY material. Anyone who can see past all the Grade-A voice acting, animation, etc. will realize this. I got bored immediately after beating it since online was boring and so was the game after you finish the story line. The game feels sluggish thanks to the game's dependence on realism rather than fun. This is why I agree with Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation that Saints Row 2 is a superior game. Not as pretty, but way more fun overall.

If you liked San Andreas, you'll love Saints Row 2. This next spin-off, who knows? Might correct a few of GTA4's flaws. Vote me down all you want but this is my opinion just as it is tobyo's.

just think about it... if its in vice city.... i'm like dreaming rii now... thinking about vice city in next gen graphics... its gonna look so stunning... waaaaaaaaaay better than gtaIV.. i think so because liberty city is a duplicate of nyc... nd thats where i live so i already had enough of the city which only looks great in the night...lol... but vice city? miami? craaazy...lol...

i would like a gta game with euphoria physics in another place than liberty city, if it was in san andreas, it would have been awesome!

also, there shoud be more helicopters, there should be planes (jet fighter is needed) and there should be a monster truck and a big ass dump truck.

i would also love more special cars, like the bloodring banger and the hotring racer to come back

AND WE WANT GARAGES TO CUSTOMISE YOUR CARS! DUUH! also, NOS!

 » San Andreas

because of the landscape, i'm tired of the city.

i loved racing around in san andreas, with sandmasters in the desert, and faster cars on the freeways!

...And driving pushbikes and vans off the top of Mt. Chiliad :D

Good times.

Unless it's exclusive to the PS3 I wont be buying it. There is no way I will be buying another cut down GTA. I see what RS did to GTA IV because of the Xbox. Not wasting another $60 bucks.

have been the same thing since gta3. they're just recycling old crap over and over. oh and the storyline for pete's sake. the drug comapny, mafia, russian mafia, or whatever the hell those are. so gangsta and never evolves. seriously. why don't they just make a totally brand new game rather than doing the same game over and over with just better graphics and different characters, eh? i can't believe people buy to this crap.

i just hope Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (or Yakuza 3) will come sooner here in North America cause it kicks GTA's a$$ to the moon.

I sure like some the ideas used in Infamous. I wonder what it would cost to recreate them?
