Ó

It was just a couple of days ago when we learned about SCEE's plans of releasing a new set of high-range AV cables to be used with the PlayStation 3 and other Sony gadgets. Not to be outdone, Sony Computer Entertainment America sent in a press release today containing its first party lineup packages of USB 2.0 and video cable.

Judging from how these cables are presented, it seems that Sony is further pushing the compatibility of the PS3 and the PlayStation Portable. We also have to keep in mind that SCEA recently updated the Terms and Conditions of the PlayStation Network - a move that clearly points out to the same motive.

Those who are still using PlayStation 2 will be happy to know that there are some packages announced as well for their much-loved console. The packages are as follows:

  • HDMI Cable + USB 2.0 Cable Pack (PS3/PSP)
  • Component AV Cable + USB 2.0 Cable Pack (PS3/PS2/PSP)
  • USB 2.0 Cable Pack (PS3/PS2)
  • Optical Digital Cable (PS3/PS2)

 » blah...

Sony should've packed either component or HDMI with the console. This is just another money steal from clueless customers...

Microsoft should have included a Hard Drive and wireless controllers on the Core version of the 360 but they didn't they could've made the 360 compatible with any hard drive and not made it proprietary but they didn't They could've given you the option to use any external memory to transfer your saves to instead of a proprietary memory card but they didn't They could've made online play free but they didn't. So don't tell me that Sony is trying to steal from their costumers when almost if not all of these extras can be bought from third party vendors. Think before you type.

 » I still remember that...

When I bought my $5000 VAIO laptop a 3ft SONY firewire cable cost $120. So surprise me...

 » uhhhh

why am I the only one to realise that, outputting psp with HDMI is just...well....stupid :)

 » frankly...

with PSP-phat TV-out not an option, remotejoy for PC-monitor-output is what us Phat users have...
So I want to try the 10ft USB cable, because my original USB cable keeps dropping the remotejoy signal. Perhaps a higer-quality USB will correct this problem... or its possible my USB port on my phat PSP is janky from being plugged/unplugged so many times...?
Price is always a factor, though... I may just go to Radio Shack.
