PlayStation Store new - Image 1

We've previously reported on the rumor on the Sony PlayStation Store possibly getting a makeover, and now we're getting a sneak peek on how it just may look like. Despite having the screenshot that we have right now (courtesy of Kotaku), we're still filing this one under Rumors for now.

This is because aside from the lack of official confirmation, there are just some little details that make the almost believable screenshot of the new PlayStation Store a little bit off.

Eagle-eyed readers managed to spot some minor inconsistencies in the screenshot, such as LittleBigPlanet spelled as "Little Big Planet," the PLAYSTATION Store header as simply "Playstation Store," and other minor details. See if you can spot them all!

However, even if it's just a fake, or a mock-up, the person behind this screenshot should be given kudos for the more streamlined look in this particular depiction of the Playstation Store. What do you think? Do hit the comments field to share your input.

 » Bah

This one's easy: fake. It is "PlayStation" not "Playstation". Capital S on the brand.

 » yeah...

thats true... but god I really love it :|

   Re: spicyhamster - 2008-03-10
 » yeah

but it looks sweet nonetheless.

 » Registered Trademark

Another thing i noticed is the way Sony put the little 'R' everytime they mention PlayStation (R) 3 or PSP (R), etc. in a regular body of text.
The guy who made this mock-up is looking less thorough by the minute :/

   Re: Bob Joe - 2008-03-10
 » nice

nice find, didnt notice that :)

   Re: Eclipze_ - 2008-03-10
 » The

(R) is between Playstation and Store at the top, but I guess your right about the "regular body of text" thing.

   Re: Techni - 2008-03-10
 » Nope.

It's PLAYSTATION, not Playstation, not PlayStation.

   Re: xche78x - 2008-03-11
 » wrong

the PlayStation with capital P and S is the correct registered trademark.
a simple google search of "sony playstation" will show that all sony certified websites shows the capitalized P and S. not all small and certainly not all caps. great find enderos!

 » FAKE!

its says 15.01 $, and everyone knows the $ is supposed to come first...

   Re: Someone_PR - 2008-03-10
 » yeah...

you found another one lol... but everyone need to agree that the store with the look of singstore will look awesome

   Re: girandhistacos - 2008-03-10
 » Um...

Do some research before you comment, moron. There are countries in the world that put the dollar sign behind the amount.

If the person that made this is from Quebec, then it makes perfect sense.

   Re: Someone_PR - 2008-03-10
 » hmmm

he was talking about the USD girand

   Re: girandhistacos - 2008-03-11
 » What?

He didn't say anything about the USD... and the fake website doesn't say anything about USD...

 » User?

If this is supposed to be for the PS3 version of the store, then you need to be signed on to the PSN, leading me to my point... there's no mention of the user's PSN ID at the top of the screen.

   Re: xche78x - 2008-03-11
 » oops

the creator didnt want his PSN ID to be hammered with hate messages and or be banned. funny thing though is he could have used a fake PSN ID too.

the current PSN look is fine by me, but any change is welcome, specially a faster one.
i want something that is more informative, something like the cheat code central setup but instead of just cheat the game page should show more information like screenshots, trailers, demo download, etc. and a buy this game at the bottom. the uppermost directory should show a link to whats new, whats hot, games, movies etc.

» fake or not, this would be good looking

I hope it's gonna be something like that, that's for sure. Because right now, it's really ugly, and not really wise. I mean, you start by scrolling for an hour to pass all the guitar hero new tracks, then another hour to pass the rock band new tracks, and THEN you see the new stuff... I suppose they should organise that better, like, having new stuff in folders. For exemple, you would see a folder named "rock band new track", then you click on it and they are all there! :D It would be better for rock band fans as well as for non fans.

» Quite fake, but a good attempt!

PLUS, the buttons aren't coloured lol.

   by Dustball - 2008-03-10
 » And

There is no official Haze theme available on the PS Store. The icon at the bottom is from a custom theme.
If this guy really was trying to make this seem "official", he left so many errors that it's not even funny.

   by NarooN - 2008-03-10
 » ok.

I don't think this was never meant to be "real". It's just a mock-up done on purpose. This looks pretty cool and would work really well.

   by Payka - 2008-03-11
 » And

that echochrome description seems a little unprofessional. It wasn't supposed to be real I'm guessing and dustball, different regions might have the haze theme.
