Silent Hill: Homecoming - Image 1

In a recent press release, Konami Digital Entertainment has finally announced an official title for Silent Hill 5 for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is now officially known as Silent Hill: Homecoming, a suitably creepy name for what is shaping up to be an an awesome horror game.

In addition, it was also revealed that the game will be heading to European consoles by the end of September this year. Far sooner than the rumored 2009 release date that was mentioned in a previous article we put up. Could this mean that even gamers in other regions will be getting hold of the game around the same time?

Finally, we also have some new details on Silent Hill: Homecoming's storyline. Apparently, the game puts players in the shoes of Alex Shepherd who has returned to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen to resolve the sudden disappearance of his brother.

For reasons yet undisclosed, he finds himself in Silent Hill. The place where, as the press release stated, "Alex must unravel the mystery behind his nightmares, discover the truth behind his brother’s disappearance, and confront the evil lurks in the seemingly empty streets of Silent Hill."
