Sam FisherBeing a double agent requires you to play sides. Sam Fisher can't do it any better in this Splinter Cell series finale because he's playing sides on the 360, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Wii, and, of course, the PS3. That's six consoles, making him - not a double agent - but a sextuple agent!

While most every other console's already got dibs on Splinter Cell: Double Agent and was already released months ago, the PS3 version is still under way and is now pegged for March 2007 worldwide (and as a launch title for Europe).

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that it's not going to be a direct port. With new multiplayer maps and the whole new dimension brought by the tilt-sensing SIXAXIS, Guillemot is confident of their release on the Sony platform:

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent is already a best-seller and has set a new standard for the Splinter Cell series. I am sure that Double Agent will prove to be a must-have title for the PlayStation 3 system.

And so, to sextuple agent Sam Fisher, godspeed and good luck!

I knew splinter cell would be out on ps3 in due time yet I also remember getting flamed by xbots who though it was exclusive to xbox. Anyways this is sounding really cool for ps3.

This Splinter Cell was never meant to be exclusive. It's the next Splinter Cell game that was anounced as a 360 exclusive.

 » Ps3 ll own - a fanboy's biased point of view

i ll tell u why ps3 ll win this, sony is bidding their time nice and slow as they did with ps2. When Ps2 first came out, there were so little known games, and psone was still selling like hotcakes, until mgs2 and FFX came out, and then sony sunk dreamcast and n64.

Dont we see a pattern here? Sony had to come up with Ps3 to let people know that they r in the next gen console war. However, they ll still be banging on the Ps2 which is still churning out some very hot games such as FF12 & guitar hero 2. The real console war will only begin when FFXIII and mgs4 comes out and by then, PS3 will get cheaper coz the parts for it ll be easier to produce and developers have a better understanding of how to utilise the ps3 power.

Begun the clone wars has!
