The momentum shift and the energy behind PS3 in time for Christmas is extremely fortuitous. It was planned by the PlayStation group, but I think this momentum now -- particularly the number of games coming out, including our own as well as third-party -- is the same as it was with PlayStation 2. Our partners are with Blu-ray Disc because, first of all, we have greater security, which Fox is particularly good at. Disney thinks it's a better picture. And the sheer amount of bandwidth on the disc gives directors and beyond all kinds of future opportunity, including director's cuts and who knows what 3-D capabilities will be down the road.
It takes time to build a new format, [the PS3 is] not behind the curve compared to PlayStation 2 in terms of momentum. The amount of bandwidth and the processing power of Cell give game manufacturers a lot more work to do to use this system to its full benefit -- and it's taken awhile to do it. The same was true of PlayStation 2.

I dont really care about the dumb format war its stupid to use that when your focus should be strictly on gaming content. But for the doubts people have about the system yeah its crazy how the did the same thing with the PS2 and its still dominating. So again look at the big picture which most dont do and not have a overly bias opinion.
Your are smart.
yea, that is all true though but the difference now is that the PS3 has much more and better competition. the PS2 biggest competitor was the gamecube.... then later the xbox. now with the xbox 360 with a year headstart and the Wii showing a new way of gaming, its gonna be harder for the PS3 then it was with the PS2. still, the PS3 will become victorious because it is so technologically advanced that it can stand the test of time without question. the things it has now will be eccential about 5 to 10 years from now and while xbox and nintendo will have to make new systems to keep up the PS3 can stay because it already had it all from the beginning.
I agree, i my self love technology and the PS3 is basically superior hardware wise and that can be the difference in this gen. Not only is the cell have plenty of years to be untapped the Blu-ray disc's them selves are exactly the same there is so much you can do without losing quality by compressing it. Man all i have to say is go Sony, your powerhouse will dominate.
The PS3 is like THE entertainment system but Blurays stupid the ps3 is still way to expensive but it will sell and will make a comeback they just planned it all out badly but me personally i hope the Wii continues to win the Console war cause i mean....thats all they do if Microsoft and sony fail....theyve got Tvs and computers nintendo the friggin founder of Gaming consoles would have nuttin but i still hope for Ps3 fans that they get back into the race because if it continues to fail that could mean Jobs being lost....So quit sucking Sony!
