Even with the last PlayStation Network (PSN) update last April 15, you can tell that Europe and other PAL territories receive little love compared to North America. This disparity is one of the reasons why the PAL PlayStation 3 community is growing more discontented with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).Over at the PlayStation EU discussion threads, a forum post from gamer Kung_Fu_Russ questions SCEE for its inferior online service. According to the post, the PAL territories almost always get the short end of the stick when it comes to PSN releases. Citing Super Puzzle Fighter and Everyday Shooter as examples, the forum post mentions how the SCEE would always have delays or non-releases and chalk it up to localization and translation issues. The post elaborates that because of these issues, some Europeans tend to sneak their way to the other territories' PSNs. The forum post had other concerns as well. It also criticizes how SCEE managed the redesign of the PlayStation Store, with reports of slow loading times and unorganized categories. Moreover, SCEE has no official blog like its US counterpart and its forums (which went down for a week for a fix) returned bugged and messy. Seeing as the forum post generated numerous responses, both positive and negative, it would really do SCEE some good to take a look at these concerns. Stay tuned here at QJ.NET for the latest updates. Thanks to Torrenera, Mentality and Snowy for the heads up! |

I do feel sorry for you Europeans. I don't know what its like since I live in the US, but I do feel bad for you. Its even worse when you are Sony's biggest ally in the whole world. Japan has pretty much forgotten the PS3. Well at least until MGS4, FF XIII, White Night Story come out since they are Japanese produced games. NA is a decent supporter, which draws pretty much even with the 360 while the Wii is off in the distance.

And thats the reason why I created a fake US PSN account. Us PAL gamers are majorly getting the bad end of the stick from Sony.

what i dont get is this "localization" issue. in the 8o's early 9o's we euros had to play games with english alnguage packs, so whats the matter? i would rather play a game in english(and for smth like everday shooter or puzzle fighter you dont have to have a Master Degree in english language).
what really shoecked me was the categorization of the store. the US store is so easy to use, because of the structure (Games,DEmos, Wallpaper, Trailer etc etc). euro PSN have "usefull" stuff like "familiy games, we recommend" blaa who carese. who wants to click thorugh the whole store just to find an older demo?
euros allways get kicked pretty hard in the balls. delays, higher prices, no 4o gig alternative, reeves, stupid campaign(this is living ).
but with the words of reeves "they will buy it anyways"

Yeah.. can't even sort your games on PS1 titles.
Although that doesn't matter, as Sony seems to have forgotten about this.

because SCEE is offering the MGS Online Beta without any promo codes required? I guess that many EU gamers are getting their hands on it.
Even though the installer is hosted on another server, as discussed from other forums, before you can download it you'll have to visit PSN anyways. Either way I wouldn't really know for sure cause Sony always throw excuses.
I do feel bad for EU gamers as well. I live up north in Canada so I get the same service as US.

Go and use the United Kingdom store and find out for yourself. Its crap. No better than the other, it looks better but the organization sucks and its slow to load the pictures.
