LittleBigPlanet from Media Molecule for the PlayStation 3 - Image 1

If you're looking for another reason to look forward to Sony's LittleBigPlanet, Nick Robinson is happy to provide it. Robinson is a senior product manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, and most likely a LittleBigPlanet fan from the sound of it.

Talking to Eurogamer, Robinson remarks that LittleBigPlanet is "potentially our biggest Blu-ray release of 2008." As if we weren't brimming with enough anticipation for the game, which, if rumors are to be believed, is already in its closed beta stage.

However, he wasn't done yet, as he adds that: "This isn't a Warhawk or a Tekken: Dark Resurrection. This is a triple-A Blu-ray title." That's saying something, if he's willing to pit its popularity against two established titles on PSN.

Robinson shares that Sony is confident of the game's success because of all the anticipation and positive feedback. One new detail he shared: the game will have a "very substantial offline story mode" for those who are less interested in its community and content-creation features.

LittleBigPlanet is slated for a release this September. We'll keep you posted, so check back for updates.

 » I agree

When kids see this title they're going to say Wii who! Ps3's are going to fly off the shelves when Little Big planet hits. I can already see the commercials and the kids nagging the parents to get the game for them. I'm 30 years old and I can't wait to get my hands on this. You can't help but smile whenever you see a Little Big Planet video. Definitely a AAA title.

I've said it before and I stand by my words. LBP will be a console mover!

» Haha I think this is the one thing we'll all agree on

I can't wait for this title. I have been expecting something good from the beginning. This article has got me to want it even more because Warhawk is - by far - my favorite game out for PS3 right now. If LBP is going to be even better, then so be it.

 » me too

when the ps3 first came out i was looking forward to Killzone 2, FF XIII, and warhawk. but ever since LBP's first showing it shot to the top of my most wanted list! even with all the great games comming out this year, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Haze (if it doesn't get pushed back again) GTA IV, LBP is still at the top of my list of games i'm most excited for!
