It looks like the Wii motion tracking technology first popularized by Johnny Lee now has some competition in the form of the Sony PlayStation 3's own head tracking system. The biggest difference between the PS3's technology and the Wii's is that all the PS3 needs is the stock PlayStation Eye camera for it to work. |

Whoa, Hold on, Do I understand that right?
You ONLY need the Playstation Eye?
That is absolutely amazing! Imagine this integrated in Blu-Ray movies where you can stop the movie and change the angle or better, integrated in games...
If this will be really integrated, then F*k about Wii's "innovative" gaming experience...(I don't really mean it bad, so please no comments about fanboyism, Wii is great nevertheless)
Its insane huh? I love the PSeye! It's so simple and works like a f'n charm ALL THE TIME! AND it's like $30.
I can't even begin to think what they could do with it in unison with the motion sensor tech in the controllers! :D
Make a good point here, but give Nintendo credit for doing something new, while 360 nothing at all. Its like all they did was update a couple of things and say its next gen. While both PS3 and Wii took risks with there console and it benefited them. Well now its benefiting PS3.
Video not accessable
Amazing! Can't believe the way it follows the guy's head without missing track! This is gonna rock in developers use this technology ALREADY AVAILABLE in future games !!! :D
i thought this is what a ps eye already did. what has it been used for before this? i thought the point of it was to track movements.
It tracks a solid moving object. However in this video we clearly see it tracking MULTIPLE objects at a much more accurate rate then ever before.
This allows the software to know in what direction your head is pointing and moving. That's never been done before with the PSE.
Amazing!! Looks like Nintendo is up for some serious competition in the innovation department, since the PSE is doing some crazy stuff.
find this amazing
but kinda creepy none the less...
