 Having a hard time picking up a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 80 GB PlayStation 3 bundle? Well, you're not the only one. Apparently, so many MGS fans decided to buy one that there has been a shortage of the console-video game combo. Thankfully, Sony expects to remedy this problem soon.Website GameRush Entertainment was able to get hold of a Sony Style representative who told them that "the new estimated time of arrival date for when this will be available is the beginning of July." Sony Computer Entertainment America seems to be very pleased at the show of support by the MGS fans and is working on providing additional shipments as stated in their statement regarding the issue: While we can't provide specifics on inventory levels, the Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 bundle is a limited-edition offering that’s experiencing high demand from Metal Gear and PlayStation enthusiasts. We're pleased with the strong consumer interest in the bundle and are working to ensure that additional shipments are provided to retailers. |

Not only did Sony take a $3,300,000,000 loss selling PS3 consoles for less than production costs in the last 2 years, but they actually make enough of them. In 2001 Sony also was able to meet the incredible PS2 demand much quicker than Nintendo is with the Wii.
Nintendo's faked shortage has gone on for 20 months, despite promises to increase production. There would be no Wii shortage if Nintendo didn't want it.

on the shelves, when we have none here in South Africa, you guys in America should count yourselves lucky that you still got a choice in choosing what type or model of PS3 to buy, because we only have one model here, and that is the 40GB PS3. I wish some of the new announced PS3 80GB bunbles, I'll buy one if the any around.
So next time you guys in the USA complain about things like that, think about other countries that are not as lucky as you, that have to wait for months before we get things/games that you already have.
Anyway, this is very good news for SONY world wide.
