PS3 firmware 1.92 - Image 1As some of the PlayStation 3 owners have noticed (and stated via comments), the move to firmware 1.92 is causing  connections problems. Based on what we've been picking up, issues include being unable to connect to the PS3's PlayStation Network, or the Warhawk servers. Incognito Games is reportedly also fixing the server bug on their side.

The good news is that it appears that Sony via PR  has also picked up wind of these issues, and is already moving to make a fix. That's the info Sony's Senior PR manager Patrick Seybold is announcing for the moment, although he states that more information should be available in the near future. Drop back again if we receive any more word on this matter.

I never had any of these issues, but good to hear Sony are already working on a fix.

I didnt have any problems with the update either. But I have read about plenty of people who have. A lot of people freaked right out about it too.

It's that kind of fast moving to fix a problem that potential console buyers like to see.

I'm able to connect to the network and play online but every time I leave a game to go back to the XMB it signs me out and I have to manually sign back in. Anybody know of this problem?

@ least you can still get on, if I turn my console on/off sometimes it works for me. You should try, also a lot of people talk about resetting their config to defaults. That didn't work for me, and if you have a static IP you assign it gets annoying redoing it.

 »  from psp updates forums

i had slight problems going online with warhawk after i did the 1.92 update,i kept getting timed out every time i tryed to connect to go online so i left it for 2 hours and tride and it worked.
i agree that sony is picking up on and acting on these firmware glitches quite fast which can only be a good thing but i dont agree with sony saying that if you update your ps3 console and sometihng goes wrong and the said ps3 wont work any more its NOT coverd buy the waranty meaning they wont replace it.
to go online with ps3 games you must have the most upto date firmware running which means we are all constantly risking a dead ps3 when we flash (update) it and if the ps3 turns out like the psp where the games you buy on disk come with the highest firmware on it waiting for you to install befor you can play the game it wont just be online gaming what you need to update for.

basicly i think sony should give warantys for ps3 systems for that reason.

 » Blu-Ray problems with 1.92

I hope Sony not only fixes the PSN issues associated with 1.92, but I hope they also fix the Blu-Ray playback issues as well. My system locks up everytime I try to load a Blu-Ray Disc. I have to switch the system off via the back switch. FIX THIS SONY!!! My Blu-Ray broke because of you geniuses messing with these stupid "updates!"
