NO! Sony's goal is to SHIP 6 million units. There is big difference. I have no doubt they can do it, I just think they are going to have trouble selling half of them by that date.

Wii - 379,250
360 - 257,500
PS3 - 133,750

Do you think retailers need another 2 million PS3 units in North America? They aren't shipped to retailers, they are shipped to Sony Distrubutors, namely Sony North America. Then sold to retailers on request.
And the 360 has shipped 10.6 million and sold 9.56. Sony have shipped 3.5 million and sold 2.08 million.

They have only SOLD around 789 Thousand in their main selling area of Japan so I doubt they will be SELLING very many in Europe and Australia, it has no real good games in 2007 and yet the 360 has a huge libray of games including a lot of AAA titles and now and Forza 2 and Mass effect(both console selling AAA titles) are coming in just the next Couple of months and then later in the year Blue Dragon,Halo 3 etc. And with the Wii looking like coming into supply this month as well it looks like a tough time ahead for the PS3

PS3 is fine. With no titles except Resistance, its outsold the 360 in the same time frame. Now it has Vf5 and motorstorm with Lair soon to come. It can only get better for sony as we are in the rough times right now.
