Ó

Stringer becomes Sony president - Image 1Although Sony's suffering a financial crisis, it really won't be accurate to say that the company's in bad shape. It's still a billion dollar company after all.

But its current state does demand some changes, and it looks like Howard Stringer is the one to lead the charge. He's taken up the title of President to add to his already long list of titles, and under his reign Sony will be undergoing a major organizational change.

The PlayStation group is, of course, included. According to the press release from Sony, PS boss Kazuo Hirai will become the Executive VP of the Networked Products and Services Group, but will continue on in his role as President and Group CEO of SCE.

Hirai will be consolidating the PlayStation group, the VAIO group, Walkman products, and Sony Media Software and Services. The goal is to have all of these products gain common access to the Playstation Network. Nice huh.
