The author made a translation error in the post.

It should say: Blu-ray's demand has multiplied by 30.
The error: The author said that Blu-ray sales increased by 30%, when in reality they increased by 300%. One zero makes a lot of difference.

and with all the negative realeases lately about everything that pertains to the PS3 it still sells... and on the month of march, nowhere close to the year-end holidays... and with the presence of XBox and Wii who's had a year headstart in carving up it's place in the console race...
must say i'm a little bit surprised... and surprisingly impressed.

You will always get the PS3 hardcore fans buying at release but its whether everyone else buys it after that what really counts.
The Wii is not available other than Japan where it constantly sells out and also outsells the PS3 by 50,000 per week, once the Wii becomes available in Europe the PS3 will wither away in sales....

I'm trying to get all the PS3 support I can because hopefully I can have some decent games to play in the next year and if these people buy XBOX 360s instead, that means even fewer PS3 games to play.

No Cas I'm afraid that's not the point. The point was people keep saying that PS3 sold well besause there was a short supply of wiis. i'm saying that maybe people should consider the fact that the people who bought the ps3 actually like the ps3 and not attribute to sale to something else.. as i said it's amazes me that people keep on implying that since they can't get their hands on a wii people just settled for a console that everyone keeps saying is double the wii's price??? and on launch week when everybody knows a console's price is at it's peak??? for a couple of hundred of people who aren't really interested in the ps3 and just settled for it that doesn't make a lot of sense doesn't it???
as for the sales going down as everyone says we have to wait... but it's a good thing that people are buying it since others will trust the product more when they see that other people are committing to it...
