Nomura interview - Famitsu - Image 1

The latest issue of Famitsu includes an interview with Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura. While the entire interview encompasses other games and franchises (FF13, Advent Children - most of which have already been discussed here), the more interesting bit involves the Kindgom Hearts series - especially his parting note to conclude the interview.

-Let’s chat about the directions you’ve taken with other titles. First from Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days.

Nomura: Development is in the last stage. It’s finally in debugging now. Since the game is set up in mission modes, if you only clear the required missions, the game can be played to the end in a short time period. However, if you complete everything, the volume of the title is exceeding. I’m excited about multiplayer mode. Without having a mission purpose, you’ll have fun competing with each other. (Laughs)

-How is the content of Kingdom Hearts Coded going on the mobile phone?

Nomura: Because it is being distributed in episodes, a certain number of them is created and the stock is guaranteed when the title is purchased.

-Thank you so much for your time. Is there anything else to add?

Nomura: I’m very excited in the direction these titles are moving in. Next week, we plan on making a special announcement regarding the Kingdom Hearts series - please look forward to it.

I wonder what it's going to be about. A shame that KH: Birth by Sleep was left out in the interview. Maybe next week's special announcement would pertain to that. Equally, it could also be something for that still very-much-hushed-about Kingdom Hearts 3 for the PS3, who knows?

By the recent trend of filthy Squeenix I wouldn't be surprised if Kindom Hearts 3 would be 360-exclusive...

...sure I like new KH news... but its exactly like that man. SE has been so friendly with MS lately it wouldn't surprise me to see "KH exclusive to 360" or something equally dumb like "KH exclusive to Iphone".

nah not gonna happen
nomura is too much of a ps3 fanboy to let that happen.

 » Yeah Nomura

is a huge PS3 fanboy or Sony fanboy as a whole, actually since one of the KH is for DS I'll put it as a Japan Fanboy. This is one of the main reasons why FFXIII Vs is not going to the Xbox 360

 » I hope this goes PS3 exclusive.

Just hope Square as a whole doesn't force this on the 360. They should know by now that they can't make good 360 games. I'm scared for FFXIII. Besides Capcom, 360 development should be left to the Americans.

feels like it'll be mission-based like crisis core, and gameplay like The World Ends with You...
